This is quite amazing given that the La Borne parcel is part of the same vineyard. The nose is incredible - more finesse and restraint; fine and ripe stonefruit, herbs. Chalky, slightly floral and smoky with lots to emerge in the years to come. Very concentrated and precise on the palate, but again much finer and less expressive than the slightly "loud" Morstein. Very fine, intense, bright, slightly creamy even. Amazing mineral backbone. The length is stunning. Absolutely breathtaking. 98-99+ |

12/6/2012 - AMRS Likes this wine: 98 pointsThe sweetest finish to a Birthday dinner one can hope for. I struggled a lot before deciding to bring this bottle, but was never sorry for that. Yellowish color, honey and plums on the phenomenal nose. The palate is so complex, with honey, brown sugar, apple tart, lemon zest and huge acidity to balance. The finish is LLLLLLong. that long. all in all a wine to die for. Drinkable now, but will improve for 10-30 years I guess. 98 points, easy. |

Very focussed and precise, slightly chalky, fresh, mineral with amazing purity of fruit. The way it builds up to an incredibly intense and persistent finish is breathtaking. 6/24/2020 - theb Likes this wine: 98 pointsin in the top 3 german dry wines iv ever tasted -stunning and with another 30 years of drinking time this may overtake g-max 09 very soon -its a huge punch wine like the Schaefer frohlich 09 felseneck gg this is deeper heavier - you need decanter this several hours dont drink straight off ok or you will wast it ! the length of this wine is great the balance is perfection - drink with lobster thermadore as you do your g-max -i want to see the g-max 09 next to this asap -to see the evolution from when i tried this at the Auction in trier in 2010 -this is going to be here in 2040 no problemo and in mags 2050 -peezy pie a friend matthew bell london gave this 99/100 4 years ago in a tasting meal meet its rare seek this wine out and buy it Do you find this review helpful? This and the above wines will bring you great pleasure in your life ! trust me!! 09 had moderate acid so we are in perfect place perfect for the uk and usa market and chinese wines with a lovely balance . I picked up pink grapefruit touch sweet lime dry white berries closing down for the long hall best leave another 5 years RARE wine buy buy buy |

I know this wine will improve over time, but right now it's so harmonious and brilliant that it's THE riesling I want to drink all the time. There's a balance and beauty in the lean and laser-like focus of the acidity and fruit profile in this while scents seem to fill the glass and as time passes it seems to build and grow in depth and complexity. I have 3 bottles left, but sadly at this rate I just don't know if I'll be able to keep my hands off them when they're this good. An Extraordinary wine...the only wine I've tasted from the 2015 vintage that even comes close to rivaling this is the 2015 Keller Abts Erd and that Keller might have been the best young Dry Riesling I've ever tasted this is JUST behind it in quality and complexity for me. |
