Perfectly ripe, sweet cherry fruit. Everything is in the right place here – perfectly harmonious. Unbelievable intensity. Everything I imagine a Barbaresco could be at about 25 years old. I couldn’t get enough of this. The stand-out wine for me in a line-up of stand-out wines. WOTN. |

Super fresh, crisp and pure at the start with some saline, seashell notes. This got better and better with time and my last sip was the best about 5 hours after opening. Tremendous complexity, depth and intensity with everything in perfect balance. I loved this wine when I had it from 750ml last year but this was a significant step-up with much more freshness and intensity. Absolutely stunning wine in a perfect spot of maturity. |

1/1/2021 - bill00 wrote: 99 pointsSpectacular bottle. Benchmark Barolo. Perfectly sweet and ripe red cherry with classic notes of roses and tar. Still hugely structured and quite young but at the same time the tannins are so fine that it comes off as perfectly seamless. Drunk from a Conterno Sensory glass which I think helped to soften the wine and make it more approachable (a taste from a Zalto appeared more stern). I've had this wine several times in the past and this was the best experience by far. Could envision this being even better down the road as the structure is fully resolved. 99+ |

6/12/2021 - bill00 wrote: 99 pointsIncredible wine. A benchmark Coche CC. Exuberant young Coche fruit matched with serious structure. Laser focused and perfectly balanced. Totally approachable and delicious right now with obvious long-term aging potential as this got better and better with air. I find this more impressive than the '10 CC as this has more flesh and is less austere without trading off any seriousness. Loved this. |

6/30/2021 - bill00 wrote: 99 pointsExtraordinary. Echoing kr522's note on the same bottle, while pretty much perfect today this is still on the ascent and feels like it will have an almost limitless ability to age. A clear step above the excellent '99 Beze beside it. Benchmark Rousseau. 99+ |

8/14/2021 - bill00 wrote: 99 pointsSpectacular. Has that singular Jayer quality. Incredible purity of cherry fruit along with serious stony, boulder minerality (echoing Vines That Bind note from a couple of years ago). Regal and effortlessly beautiful. This grew in intensity and expressiveness over the course of a few hours with the last sips being the best indicating likely further improvement and a long life ahead. Brilliant. I just adore this wine. 99+ |

So pure, so silky and so easy to drink. Weightless intensity. Finishes with plenty of acidity and super smooth tannins suggesting a long life ahead but I just love this right now. This was fantastic right out of the bottle but even better after it was open for a couple of hours. Awesome wine. |

5/9/2021 - bill00 wrote: 98 pointsOutstanding vintage of this wine. There's the typical light stemmy spice but there's so much depth of fruit and material here that it kind of fades into the background and plays a lesser role than usual. Despite the power and depth it is perfectly balanced and composed. Showing layers of complexity with likely more to come in time. Love this. |
