Leather, less fruit that many other Napa reds, though note lean. Nice depth at 27 years. I liked it best between 2 1/2 hours to 3 1/2 hours. Drink now or over next 7-10 years(Now - 2029). |

Based on other peoples notes, we were lucky. I served a 2000 Montrose(93 points at this stage). The Montrose was more youthful and had not yet developed the character of the 82 Calon-Segur. This was a Wow! wine, Served with Ribeye steaks. The Calon-Segur had an earthy character that moderated with air. This bottle clearly had 5 to 10 years of life remaining. This is still tannic and needs at least 10 years to resolve. I can begin to sense the depth and structure emerging a bit. Drink 2031-51.
