Still hanging in there; vegetables, baking spice, soy sauce nose. Typical 82, even if this is not as good as others I've tried. Palate is austere, but this was a good experience. Drink up.

This bottle was overly advanced, soy sauce a d herbal, no freshness like the tretine beside it,. Palate is still. Structure but too. Much stewed fruit

Blue fruits, hint of greenness...decent backbone here, a little astringent, opening up with some air, still fairly lean, modernish aromas

Very light (in terms of weight), brioche, lemon, faint McIntosh apples; palate is lively, acidity balances the ripe fruits on palate. Medium plus finish.

  • Comment posted by AWBryce:

11/25/2019 7:11:00 AM - I usually find Cristal to be a bit of a lighter style, it might add some weight with age, but the flavour profile will change as well.. definitely not disappointment, just observation. I thought it was drinking well as is

Sweet red fruit nose, this shouts Merlot. A massive wine, ripe fruit long finish. Needs a decade or two.

  • Comment posted by AWBryce:

10/4/2015 4:29:00 PM - Yes, its an 80/20 blend. I found it unusual, but the nose was all sweet red fruit and almost no perfume/ flowers as I'd expect from a cab franc dominated wine.

Borgogno dinner (Bosk at the ShangriLa Hotel, Toronto): Tobacco and leather nose. Less acidic than the other vintages, which let the sweetness of the fruit shine through. Nicely balanced, softer and rounder than the others, but still has grippy tannins. My rank: #2.

Nose wasn't as opulent as some of the other young Tuscans, but this one was showing some nice liqourice. Sweet fruit and dusty tannin on the palate. This is nice but needs a lot of time.

Rich gold colour. Mature, oxidized, nutty and yeasty nose. Based on previous notes, the palate may have mellowed somewhat: it's tart and dry but not excessively so, with good body and round mouth feel, and notes of toasted bread and underlying green apple. Fairly short finish. Paired well with sushi, but drank well on its own, too.

Just basic fruity Rioja, with no interest. No offsetting acidity or tannin or structure of any kind. Fruit juice. I cannot see 89 points for this wine. My tasting note says: "poor quality".

Slightly subdued nose compared to the 05 le gay, but the taste was incredible. Ripe blueberry, some astringency, long finish and some grainy tannins.

Surprisingly approachable, this will be stellar to those who are patient.
