2/22/2014 - Benito0902 Likes this wine: NRThe wine is young red purple in colour however its lip was quite transparent. There were predominate Grenache aromas of red fruit which followed through onto the pallet which despite the wine’s 15% alcohol content were not in the over ripe spectrum. The pallet was luscious and full had cherries, strawberries and a hint of floralness which was possibly rose and the tannins were soft. The wine initially showed some barn yard characters ( E did not get these) , however after about an hour the fruit began to dominate and was quite sweet and bordering on jammy. The wine was full bodied and smooth and the alcohol was not particularly discernible. The wine had definite legs and there was no sediment in the bottle. E thought the wine was fruitier at the beginning than I did. |

A lot of fruit (cornelian and sweet cherry, prunes) coupled with reminders of wood barrel. Above average long bitter-sweet aftertaste.

11/5/2014 - isaacjamesbaker wrote: 90 pointsMixed Blinds (My Place - Washington, DC): Bright red cherry colored. Cool red fruit bursts from the glass (strawberries, cherries and raspberries), along with a hefty dose of spice (oregano, black pepper, nettles) and some sweet coffee. Fresh and inviting on the palate with high acid, smooth tannins and tangy strawberries, raspberries and red currants. I like the kick of pepper, soy and wet leaves. The cedar and coffee notes are integrated well into the overall package. Bright and fresh but lots of complexity. Ready to drink but able to hold.

10/20/2012 - raypedia wrote: 89 pointsStrong blackberry, black currant and cedar on the nose. Initial burst of black fruit, spice, and an earthy undertone on the palate. Full-bodied, very tannic, but with a structure that suggests it could improve with 3-5 years of additional cellaring. Long finish with cedar and tart dark fruit. Heavy sediment, so let the bottle rest upright for a day or two, or decant well. For drinking during 2012-2013, an hour or so in the decanter would probably give good results, otherwise lay it down until 2014, then drink for the next 4 or 5 years. (Drank at Yield Wine Bar in San Francisco.)

Opened it and it was flat, boring, uneventful and clearly not something I would have bought. Cork was fine, no noticable "burnt" color on the edge, not much of a nose. I have to think this particular bottle was flawed.

12/19/2014 - Zweder wrote: NRDTC (@ SS Bordeaux: Left or Right bank?): In the bouquet a tertiary wine with tea, coffee and barnyard. On the palate also quite mature, but still juicy with sweet spices and autumn forest. A big wine, but past its prime. I see there are recent and quite high scores in Cellartracker. That is nice and I don’t know the history of the bottle we had tonight. No score from me.
