Wow, amazing wine. Completely open for business. So much depth of fruit and complexity. I was dreaming of pairing this with a great hamburger.

Dark violet color. Nose deep, dark fruits with hint of maple, an almost smoky character. Palate deep, young and primary; red fruited with some herbal notes. Probably could use either a healthy decant or several more years sideways, but good potential; however, not an Allemand expert by any means so not sure how this compares to other vintages. 92 pts with upside.

Wow, killer stuff. Light perfume on the nose. Amazing palate with such a gorgeous texture. I'm talking about some serious velvet on the palate. Pure red and blue fruits that linger. What a knockout Chambolle-Musigny Villages.

La Festa del Barolo Master Class Tasting (Del Posto): The nose showed the classic Burlotto Monvigliero bouquet with black olive tapenade, roses, violets, crushed cherry and minerals. On the palate, I found soft textures with pure strawberry fruits, inner florals and life-giving acidity. The finish was medium-long with lingering cherry, minerals and olive-tinged inner florals.

This wine receiving 100 points from one of the major critics is the worst thing that could have ever happened to it. In my opinion, it's a very unique wine that will only be appreciated by those who love it for being an outlier, a singular expression unlike most others. Years from now people will taste this 100-point wine and scratch their heads over it, while those who would have appreciated it, have been shut out by the massive increase in price. It's very sad.

2/6/2018 3:17:00 PM - A wine that was selling for $65~ in 2012 is now $350+. It is just absurd. My guess is the majority that buy it and drink it will be disappointed. They just won't get the wine as Eric has said.

Beautiful stuff. Fun to taste this given that AG has now wrecked the party with his 'perfect score'. Lots of perfume on the palate with nice elegance. Should develop into a real fantastic wine with the proper cellaring.

  • Comment posted by JOsgood:

11/4/2017 8:41:00 AM - Sadly that is the case. I don't see how he got 100. It's just not that type of wine. But of course the score is more about AG than the actual wine. Sad really.

Something was off with this wine. The palate just tasted weird and unpleasant. Side by side this was smoked by the 2011 Brovia Villero. Not sure what the flaw was or perhaps the wine just needs time. My first experience with this producer.

This is a fabulous young Barolo. Light in color with an accessible tannin set. Complex and intellectual on the palate. With air the tar really comes out.

Totally unimpressed. $50. You're kidding. This wine was simple, slightly oxidized, brickish. I tasted it when I thought it was early because I bought this last year, based on the producer--Ciacci. I had their wines in the early 90's and they were great. I tasted it because the 2010 is now really hyped. I needed to decide if I wanted to buy the 2010. This made up my mind. No way. Very disappointing for a $50 bottle. I tasted it the same night as a Griffone, $3.99 primativo---sadly, I will take the Griffone.

1/24/2015 6:23:00 PM - Hope that shows better. I was on the fence about selling off the 2006. I ended up keeping it because I visited the estate and tasted this there. Hoping mine come around with age. I've moved on from Brunello though, prefer a good Chianti classico that I can see through.
