4/16/2015 - grossie wrote: 90 pointsBeen through a few of these from Costco, can't remember the exact price but it's $20 or less. It's pretty tight at first but if left alone it really shines after 24-48 hours. I will probably buy a few to lay down for 5-10 years, I bet it'll be a beauty in 2025. Great fruit, ample acidity, and fine grained tannins. |

3/5/2015 - jedwilson Likes this wine: 91 pointsChateau Lilian Ladouys is consistently among my top 5 for wines under $30. The 2011 vintage does not disappoint. #72 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2014, it is ready to drink now through 2018. This is, in my opinion, best drunk as a "stand-alone" -- the tannins are well-rounded and integrated with a nice, palate-fulfilling dark fruit. Excellent medium finish, acidity does not overwhelm. I drank this over 3 days, and it did not decay over that time! Strongly encourage the purchase of a case if you can find one! |

12/5/2014 - Neecies wrote: 86 pointsImmediate nose of chicken poop and blackberry; quite decent and full on the palate with good fruit and a bit of herb for first hour or so but shut down hard by the third. Interesting critical history: Jancis only gives it 83 pts but The Speck put it in their Top 100. No comprende! |

4/16/2022 - Neecies Likes this wine: NRFirst time with this producer. Effusive nose that reminds of Cos, I kid you not, with tobacco and that mild poopy thing. By aroma, no sign of an off-year; that dawns on you though on the palate where it's quite austere. Gets better with protein (we had lamb chops). |

7/19/2021 - ericindc Likes this wine: 89 pointsPretty good. For people that prefer young wines this is drinking really well. Good moderated fruit, nice tannic structure and acidity. Some light mature hints starting to poke through. If you like older wines, I would wait 5 more years for more mature notes, but its fine now. |

9/29/2013 - cos65 wrote: NRfairly dark, faint licorice, berry flavors. Seemed a bit thin at first, but then a bit jammier later as it opened up. mostly merlot and rather easy to quaff. Not a whole lot there, but a very decent drink for a cru bourgeois at a very easy price point |

2/22/2015 - Tetherton Likes this wine: 90 pointsWe decanted it for 30 minutes. It was very tight with a splash of menthol, load of herbal spices and some eucalyptus on the palate. We waited for another hour and sampled it. Elected to put it back in the bottle and it was totally different (and better) on day 2! A great wine for the $$ that doesn't fall apart after one day. |

5/8/2020 - Christian De Lafoye Likes this wine: 91 pointsIncongruent that I opened this bottle while listening to Andre Bocelli as I normally reach for Italian wine by default, but I had French Raclette and (gasp) Ritz crackers. Dark ruby red, medium legs and some sediment. Fresh on the nose. I get plums and red fruit, low tannins and just a bit of oyster shell that hints of the terroir of the place. Why do people pay hundreds for a Bordeaux (even me)? Probably a better palate then me. I bought this a while back for $24. Con Te Partiro... |

3/21/2017 - cuffthis Likes this wine: 89 pointsDark mahogany in color, this wine revealed aromas of cassis, saddle leather, cigar leaf, cedar, blackberry and plum on the nose. The mouth feel was full bodied and brought added notes of mocha and blackberry. The finish was tight and reluctant to fully open even over the 90 minutes it was open. 13% abv. |
