6/4/2020 - Puteljen! Likes this wine: 93 pointsSweet as honey and oh so delicious. Tangerine, cantaloupe melon, ripe peach, honey and a touch of herbs - basil predominant. Good acidity. Still drinking very young with not much development. Pain is temporary, riesling is forever, at least the sweet ones. Good upside, give this 5-10 years at least. |

Good and consistent notes with last bottle, but would love to like these German Rieslings even more given this is a Grosses Gewaechs and hence kind of the equivalent of a Grand Cru from Burgundy. Reality is that in terms of balance and length this is more like a solid but not really great Premier Cru (to be fair, the price is also like a not too expensive 1er). Anyway, will keep trying these German Rieslings and not give up... 91-92 |

On the palate, there are additional notes of stonefruits, lemon, some strong mineral notes again and some spiciness. It's medium-full bodied and pretty rich but with beautiful medium-high acidity providing tension. Long finish with a touch of bitterness adding some further complexity. It still feels young but what a beautiful GG. It will still have quite a few great years ahead... |

The wonderfully balanced palate shows a complex and extremely rich wine, plenty of delicious citrus fruit, spices and abundant mineral elements. The most striking characteristic of this Riesling wine is its superb acidity that frames perfectly the ripe fruit. Amazing length on the finish. This wine is already very approachable, but has also an excellent storage potential. |
