1 hour decant- drinking ok from a perfect bottle just past its prime. This is a pop and pour wine.

Medium bodied, good balance, average finish, average value, will hold up another 3-4 years. Probably in prime or within a year of it.

Purchased at winery- 2 hour decant- certainly in prime and best described as big fruit forward and polished. Balance is a bit disjointed but that doesn’t detract much. Knowing how big this wine is, I paired it with filet mignon. I don’t see this improving from here and should provide nice drinking for another 6-8 years.

Wow- needs 20 min in the glass to open up. Outstanding balance, spice box and great lingering finish. Certainly in prime with ability to age 10 more years but will not improve. What a great wine. Great value.

90 minute decant- medium bodied. Lacks in complexity and finish but would make for a good weekday wine. Decent value.

Purchased 3 bottles in 2012. This is my first. This benefitted from 90 min in the glass. Dark purple and inky up front but avoids being a fruit bomb. Decent balance and a long finish. This is in its prime and should drink well for a decade. Revisit 2025

Super tight even after 2 hours in the decanter. I knew this needed 4 hours but such is life. This is so youthful still but at the same time it’s beginning to show quite well with the proper decant. Big fruit forward but well balanced wine. This is probably 2-4 years from prime with at least 2 decades of life left. Revisit 2022.

4 years since my last bottle and this is developing nicely. This benefitted and required a 4 hour decant. Silky upfront fruit that is well balanced with a nice finish. Still a few years out from its prime and will drink well for a decade. Revisit 2025

Popped and poured into glasses 2 hours ahead of time. Still tightly wound with a dollop of cherry spice up front. Still a young and shy wine with its best about a decade out. Revisit 2027 and decant for 4 hours.

This needs at least 90 min in the decanter. The fruits started off dark and got brighter with more air. This is a wine in its prime that has nice balance and is similar to a Bordeaux blend. This will hold well for over a decade..” Revisit 2025

About 18 months since my last bottle. This needed about an hour in the glass to unfurl. Once this opened, the balance and finish were phenomenal. This is likely in or near its prime but has everything required to age gracefully for at least a decade but more likely 2 decades. Revisit 2027

Popped and poured and after 20 min I was pleasantly surprised given the recent reviews. I guess I’m in the minority but I thought this was a delicious crowd pleaser that’s in its prime and will last another decade. Very smooth and easy to drink. Good value. Paired exceptionally well with pasta puttanesca.

3 hour decant- such great high toned cherry notes. Good all the way around. Balance is good but is far from where it will be. This is probably 7-10 years away from where I’d prefer it and has the backbone to go for 3 more decades.

30 min in the glass helped open this up. Unmistakably new world but with very nice balance. This may have a Montrachet clone but no one in their right mind is guessing white burg here. This is in its prime but will drink well for at least another 5-7 years. No rush here.
