12/14/2010 - BradboBaggins wrote: NRSimple fruit forward porto, this is drinking fine now. This is possibly more enjoyable than your upper end ruby's, but there is some heat on the back end and it doesn't show particularly well after 2+ days. At $25 at Grocery Outlet, its not a bad buy, but its not a screaming deal either. |

1/23/2017 - Loren Sonkin wrote: 89 pointsMostly Paso but some other interesting stuff (Scott & Jo's): My first time hearing of this house or trying its wines. Scott actually served two bottles. He had planned on blending them but were different enough so he served as is. They were very similar but one was certainly more elegant, refined and a better wine. The other had some green notes on the nose mostly, and a lot more heat on the finish. No idea if there were multiple bottlings of this. Both were purple in color. A nose with some black cherries, slight dark chocolate and a whiff of alcohol. On the palate, these were nice. Black cherry fruit. Slight sweetness. I don't remember anyone declaring 1995 a vintage year, so that is unusual. A fun finish. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

7/6/2017 - Baron Slick wrote: 89 pointsLight tawny appearance, lots of sediment. Oaky, spicy, and nutty bouquet. The mid-to-full bodied palate is governed by a spicy and woodsy character but there's enough dried fruit and autolytic sweetness remaining to balance things out. The finish is warm and soothing. Not too shabby. |

We were told there was a ringer and I believe all of us thought this must have been it. Opens with red and black fruit, shows a bit of alc as well. Dark fruit on the palate, a touch of raisin; good sweetness. Has a nice vein of acidity. Lighter than the others in terms of body too. Develops a subtle toffee note that I quite like. Nice fruit, soft and sweet. |
