7/2/2012 - zscheiner Likes this wine: 89 pointsBlind Tasting 2009 & 2010 Cotes du Rhone (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA): Pretty, pure, strawberry nose. Light bodied with medium acidity. A nice mix of ripe and tart strawberry. Simple but quite pretty. Clearly the outlier in this group and I think it suffered for that. (my 1st, group's last) |

8/25/2010 - zscheiner wrote: 87 pointsLovely nose of honeydew with just the slightest hint of chlorine or something that just smells clean. Light-bodied, some residual sugar but not cloying. Some acidity, manifesting itself as green apple, but not enough for my taste. Hollow in the midpalate and there's a hint of something waxy and almost-but-not-quite bitter that lingers through the finish. Good but not great, and not worth the $ in my opinion. |

1/19/2012 - zscheiner Likes this wine: 90 pointsBlind Tasting Priorats (Tom's House, Palo Alto, CA): Lemon and minerals on the nose. Medium bodied with medium+ acidity. A touch viscous with nice depth of ripe lemon and tart peach fruit, buoyed by great acidity. I thought this was a southern Rhone. Very nice. |

3/20/2011 - zscheiner Likes this wine: 90 pointsNose of dark fruit, chocolate and a hint of menthol. Medium bodied, sweet black cherry and blackberry fruit but not over extracted. Moderate acidity to balance and fine tannins provide texture and structure. This is even better than I remember from tasting at the winery. |

11/1/2013 - zscheiner Likes this wine: NRBaked black cherry nose. Medium bodied with medium acidity. Mix of tart and ripe cherry fruit, dash of baking spice. Nice acid and energy on the attack. Loses some steam in the midpalate and finish but still a nice value in California Pinot. |

5/9/2010 - zscheiner wrote: 88 pointsPale pink, spritzy. Muted nose. Decidedly un-rose-like on the palate. With eyes closed I would never guess this was pink. Lime, minerality and high acidity make for a refreshing palate-cleanser. Also a perfect rose for non-rose drinkers. |
