PnP and am amazed at the quality of this. Well balanced on the feminine side . Vibrant red fruit, delicious. This might be one of the best QPRs I have had in some time. If this comes back on wine Library wine text, I am sending it in...

Only had a small taste after a PnP. Dark fruit , cassis. Fairly full bodied. Nice long finish. Drinking well now.

Cat urine nose with dark fruit, almost SB like. Does not appear on the palate, but this definitely benefited from a decant.

Darn good for the money. Loads of dark fruit, char and earth without the cheap taste normally associated with this price point. A moderate comlexity, full body and loq acidity made this a great week night bottle. 89-90

C: Quite dark with no signs of age. N: Big red fruit, red raspberry for sure, red and black cherry. P: Red cherry, dark red fruit, some spice. Medium body and medium acidity. F: Medium+ full of dark and red fruits.
IMPORTANT: This definitely needs a decant and absolutely flourishes. I've had this open for 3 hours and it's still evolving. I served it blind and all noticed that it continued to evolve and get better. The wine in the bottle was significantly more restrained than the decanted version. We planned on drinking a glass or two, but the bottle was done. 91-92

Almost too young to rate. This was popped after arrival cross country and initially was acidic, with a (possible) slight effervescence. After two hours in the decanter, the dark fruit and earthy notes started to emerge, but this definitely needs more time, but seems to have potential.

The fruit seemed to be fading in the well stored bottle. Tobacco, dried fruit, dark fruit. Medium body with medium finish. 90-91

Barrel sample. Beautiful dark color. Surprisingly fragrant nose of earth, spice and tons of floral fragrances. Obvious cool climate Syrah profile. Medium plus acidity. Medium finish of the same that was surprisingly well integrated but obviously young. Especially considering this was a barrel sample, this was very very good. 91+

5/10/2013 7:35:00 PM - Yup, from the barrel. non blended, fined, etc. That said,I expected a much more raw product, but this was very good. We didn't give it much air, but I suspect it would have made a huge difference.

N: Fresh soil, dust, leather and dark berry. P: Dusty red berry, earth, lots of leather, rustic but smooth tannins and some red apple. F: Medium with more of the same and a snap of acidity that brings you back for more. Very food friendly and waaay out drinks its price point. 91+
