Decanted for 2 hours. Cellared since release, high fill the cork was only stained 1/4 inch. Ruby red. Lovely and very alive nose of blackberry, tar, tapenade, pepper and Provençal herbs. Lively palate, good acidity and fruit wrapped in a saline infused texture that is silky and leads to a medium length finish.

I love the sense of humor of my friends, because I got blinded on this for the third time (mainly because every bottle is so different). A bit fuller on the palate compared to the second bottle. Guessed RRV Pinot with 15-20 years of age.

Nice chard, if tasting a bit clunky to me with a bit too much oak. The underlying citrus was nice and the finish and mouthfeel were great so I might wait a bit on bottles and see if the fruit emerges a bit more as the oak integrates further. That being said, other dinner companions thought it was terrific so I was in the minority not being too wowed.

A sneaky good wine that is so easy to drink.
Soft red fruit, silky viscosity, mellow.
Ready on PnP and develops in the glass as well.
Another reliable Pinot from a consistently great producer.

Bottle to bottle variation? Drank it a few months ago and I was confused, thinking it was a 90s Cab. This time, I blind called 2010s Central Cali Pinot. Didn't strike me as 90s or Cab. Interesting. Well-made though.

Finally the last bottle and 9 years since the last and I would still give it a 93 or 94. Lots of debris and a little more like a Cab blend than my old notes reflect. 16 years isn't bad, thank you Ted Dehlinger

Still showing beautiful ruby color in the center transitioning to translucent lightly brown rim. Nose of roses in the barn. Full bodied with viscose legs and tears. Red fruits, brown sugar and cinnamon hearts extend to a long and lingering finish. Can’t believe this Pinot is 34 years old. Unique and such a treat!

Ruby red in color. 14.5% ABV. Pretty nose of red fruits, cloves, sarsaparilla and forest floor. Medium body with medium acidity. Lush, earthy and well balanced. Black cherry, strawberry, roasted herbs and earth on the palate. Nice length on the finish. Well made and hard to beat for the price but in no way on par with the estate vineyard designate bottles. Best over the next year or so.

PnP. Color and fill good+. The nose is amazing, the palate follows firmly in this manner. Good freshness, med/med+ body, very elegant, mostly tertiary (but in a fresh not 'old' way) with olive, cured meat, red/purple flowers, soil, etc. Each glass as if not slightly more impressive than the one before it. A treasure shared with vg friends during some difficult moments. Chapeau, Fred! If you're lucky enough to open one of these that's been well cared for, I hope you find your experience the same as mine highly recommended, thru 2029.

Slow ox 30 minutes in glass. Initially a touch bitter, although as the wine warmed up that disappeared. Still fairly structured with notes of black olives and grilled meat. Not effusively fruit forward, but the spicy fruit emerges in an elegant way as the wine warms up. A delicious Dehlinger that still seems to be plateau'd. If I had more I'd consider decanting one hour for best drinking

Always love a Dehlinger Pinot with the right amount of ageing.
This Goldridge is drinking beautifully today and will last years.
PnP. Just a hint of sweetness with dark fruit and fantastic depth of flavor.
Uber-plush with silky viscosity. A joy to drink. Feels like it's at peak.

My first time with Dehlinger Syrah. I believe this ‘08 estate is all from their Altamont vineyard in the Russian River Valley.

Deep red/purple in the glass, hardly any bricking. Aromatics of ripe red and black berries, violets, and sweet spices. I don’t detect any savory notes and assuming no use of whole clusters as I don’t get any type of green/lifted profile. Even at 15-16yrs, this is deep with fruit…black raspberries, black currant, dark cocoa, fig, vein of sweetness down the middle, but with a coffee/mocha grippy finish. Followed over two days and, shockingly, held up just fine. Pop the corks and enjoy.
