As with the ’06, there’s plenty of sandalwood to the aroma here. It is red and black fruited and has some smoke, dried flowers and freshly grated ginger. It is deep, voluminous, layered and long. Such great balance and poise and very persistent.

A punchy nose of sandalwood, pomegranate, raspberry and aniseed. It has a beautiful, luscious, sweet core and super silky texture. It builds through the palate and fans out on the very long finish, leaving a flora infused calling card.

My first time drinking any white wine from Domaine Leroy, this did not disappoint! The aromatics were just insane -- buttered popcorn, flinty and reductive, I'd rate the nose on this wine 100 points++

On the palate, there's loads of complexity and rich fruit, showing nice maturity while remaining super fresh. If I had to be nit-picky (which I think is fair given the price point of these wines!), I'd say that I would have taken a bit more acidity here, but there's no question that this wine is outstanding.

This is very nice wine and worth what I paid for it 6 years ago. Sillypricing now. Wine has bright cherry flavors and pretty red color. Appealing but not challenging. It is even reminiscent of other Savigny wines, which is to say that at current pricing we'd be better off buying those others and letting the finance guys and gals pay thousands for this very nice (as opposed to great) Beaune wine.

A little Leroy magic on the nose and developing excellent mid palette over time. Not a GC level and a little limited by the vintage. But still excellent showing for a 2013 Boudots.

Mind blown. Drank along side a coche 2000 meursault perrieres. This wine was a powerhouse. It towered over the coche with pure power. Rich with silky smooth mouth feel. Deep, green-tinged golden hue. Medium plus acid. A swirl of flowered fields and tropical fruit aromas. Then a symphony of flavor with lemon zest and ripe orchard fruit. Unreal finish which improved with an hour or two in the glass. A reductive aroma that didn’t fade was the only thing that kept it from 100 but I might change my mind and go 100….highest recommendation

The 93 Beaux Monts was a touch rustic, leaning more towards the dark fruit spectrum with some liquorice, wilted flowers and earth. Quite broad and muscular on the palate. For me, it was more NSG than Vosne.

00189/576, true unicorn within her portfolio. Darjeeling tea, exuberant spice, red fruit, lightly gamey, potpourri, rose petal, sour cherry, incredible acidity and finesse as a testament to true quality, even without the strongest of her present day mark. 95

Grand Cru White Burgundy Fest: Herbal notes, ginger, almost spicy with sweet tarts and orange rind. Interesting taste in a cerebral way. The Frenchman there said you should drink your Aligoté much younger.

Such a lovely wine drunk at its mature apogee. So ethereal in texture and still showing some crunchy cherry fruit with notes of underbrush and spices. Really satisfying on the finish with just a perfect complexity and lightness of being. A revelation!

Epic night at Capasso. Drank in Grassl Cru. Cork soaked 3 quarter way up, but otherwise in great condition, removed using Durand. Reasonably high ullage.
Appearance is murky, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose pronounced intensity, absolutely captivating with intoxicating scents of smoky meat, sexy ripe brown stemmy spices, black cherries, dark red cherries, incense, hawthorn. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of smoky incense, lovely ripe brown stems, black cherries, dark red cherries, hawthorn. Very long elegant yet spicy finish.
Top notch wine. A nose to die for. Palate constantly begging you for another sip to draw out all its elements. Just a Clos Vougeot (some very much more special than others) and not even a hallowed Musigny, but I do get a feel of some "iron fist in a velvet glove" here. Simply fantastic. Just when I was in a bit of a funk struggling to discover more special wines (not necessarily expensive ones) to feel excited about, along comes my first experience of Domaine Leroy to steamroll all that and bring the mojo back!
Absolutely worth it to open my Rousseau Chambertin 07 as tribute, to have a taste of this.

Excellent bottle. Decanted & served over a 3hr dinner. Gained weight & complexity throughout the evening, exhibited all the characteristics of well-made Aligote; floral, slightly oily texture, mineral-driven, acid was very much in balance. A precise wine. In a beautiful spot right now but no reason to hurry on these.

6 of 12 …. Bottle 1885/3458 … Decanted @ 5:00 served @ 8:30. Now fully mature, this was not as intensely aromatic as my last bottle a few years ago. Still shows fresh red fruit, spice and some earthy notes. Very fine tannins add some texture to the fruit, nice acidity, perfectly balanced with a silky elegant texture and persistent finish. These should drink well for the next 5-10 years.

That magical Leroy nose of spice bomb, funk, and nail varnish. Much more expressive nose compared to the Les Beaux Monts 01 on the side. The palate is very sensuous - very sweet, viscous, concentrated without being heavy at all. This wine is an example of the sorcery Madame Lalou could conjure with a plot like NSG Vignerondes.

Nose of lychee/hawthorn that I often find in Leroy 01s. Charismatic presence of spices, tea, lychees, brown sugar, garam masala on the palate. Very good wine, even by Leroy standard, but lacks that sensuality today

Some nice Burgundies (Chicago, IL): Leroy really does it for me -- it's this maddening perfume that is just absolutely incredible. Very ripe, but not for a second over the top. It's this really refined rusticity that no one else has ever managed to replicate. Hints of spice and earth on the nose, but it's more a story of just how expressive and intense the aromatics are. On the palate, this is again ripe, but not overwhelmingly so. Quite dark and earthy in complexion, but impeccably balanced as well. One of those rare bottles of Burgundy that actually does it for me.
