3/10/2018 - Brix24 Likes this wine: 88 pointsNice mouthfeel that has a touch of velvet and a bit like a CDP, believe it or not. The wine has some iron, pomagranate, and a dark cherry thing going for it with a decent finish. Nose has hints of leather and some clove. A very pleasant surprise after only a modest decant. Nice! |

5/20/2017 - Finger Lakes Wine Dude Likes this wine: 89 pointsReserved nose of soft fruit, typical of a Merlot-heavy blend. Good clarity in the glass. Very soft but drying tannins on the palate, with some tart cherry shining through on the finish. Starting to lose it's balance and finesse, so drink now. |

10/17/2011 - jsums wrote: 88 pointsGolden color. Nose: pineapple, Asian pear, and lime fruit with lemon curd, wet crushed stone, white flowers, and some vanilla creme brulee. Medium body on the palate: pineapple core, ripe lime, and nectarine fruit framed by more lemon curd, wet rock, caramel, and a touch of vanilla buttercream. Medium+ acidity. Lingering apple skin, caramel, and wet rock on the moderate finish. Very good balance between fruit, acid, and oak. Beautifully proportioned. Well done in a tough vintage. |

8/31/2011 - LINY08 Likes this wine: 87 pointsTasted at the winery and also bought a bottle. This is the 2009 Lot # 2 blend variety - 40% cabernet franc, 40% merlot and 20% cabernet sauvignon. Smooth and would buy again. |

5/18/2011 - jdidom wrote: 87 pointsFirst wine I've had in almost 2 weeks, so maybe I'm enjoying this a little more than normal. This wine is pretty solid. Nose is a little muted but still has elements of strawberry fruit rollups, dust, cedar box and a hint of forest. Tastes like earthy black cherries with a hint of greens. Little acid kick and some chalk on the back end. Reminds me a little of a cab franc. Tannins are round and well integrated. Finish is a little short but stays balanced. Nice! |

5/13/2011 - jdidom wrote: 87 pointsGlad to see they can pour wine into a bottle. I had an 08 a few months ago and it was hardly wine. This on the other hand was decent. Nice balance of fruit, not to sweet. The acidity was the most appealing thing about this wine. Nice and fresh, almost tart. Nice touch for an off-dry ries. |

Dark and red fruits on the nose, with a good dose of barnyard hay and manure, tobacco, and some vegetal/green pepper as well. Medium-bodied on the palate, with red fruits--predominantly cherry--showing, and the tobacco and green pepper also carrying through, along with a bit of spice as well. Really solid effort here, and one I'd recommend, particularly for the around $15 price tag. |

3/27/2011 - dy_dx wrote: 89 pointsNose showed honey, lemon, mango, and a bit of salt spray characteristic. Palate was a sticky, sweet lemon with a very light effervescence to liven things up. The palate went from acidity and fizz in the front, through a slightly sweet phase, with persistent acidity on the finish. We thoroughly enjoyed this wine, which paired fantastically with homemade indian food. Wish we had more! |

2/7/2011 - jdidom wrote: 50 pointsThis was hardly even wine. Tasted more like water and with like 3 drops of welsh's white grape juice mixed in. Hardly drinkable, probably worst wine I've ever tried. I've had corked and spoiled wine better. Not sure the 50 is really even justified, but it's the lowest score allowed. I guess Peconic Bay gets a 50 just being able to put a cork in a bottle. |
