Nose of cool blue & black berries, black plum, black peppercorn, singed herbs, and a rocky graphite tone. Very giving.
Body has a creaminess to it but still feels light-maybe that's the whole cluster? Shows those dark fruits & spices, adding a vanilla note midway through. Brambly.
Nice herbal streak. Gives a little heat but mostly med+ acid & tannin are there. Really enjoyed this

Drinking well, dark fruit, leather, meat, integrated tannins. Will keep for a few more years.

Last bottle and I'm not sure if I liked it more now or a few years ago (and this is coming from someone who typically perfers a little age on their zins). Restrained Pagani fruit but maybe lacking a bit of the 'energy' from my last bottle in 2019. I still enjoyed this and it was an incredible QPR.....but I'd say drink up sooner than later.

This works for satisfying what I prefer out of new world Pinot. Similar to my last note, the fruit is ripe & dark without feeling confected. Med+ body has some earthy tones (tea, underbrush) beneath it to work with the acidity and add complexity.

In great shape. Bit of green peppercorn & singed herbs on the nose, sitting above dark blue & black berry fruits. Touch of vanilla bean is there as well. Med+ weight on the palate with a nice anise note & bit of creamy midpalate. Med tannins & acid hold up with good length. Enjoyed with a mix of kalbi ribs & steak.

I do love this wine. We also have some Judge vineyard from the same vintage but not up to this level. I think the winemaker mentioned that he started adding viognier in later vintages but I wouldn't be surprised if (judging by the nose) this had some too.
Nose of mineral bath salts, chocolate orange, caramel and Play-doh. Generous mouth of carbon paper, dried leaves and blueberry extract. Long finish of aniseed and woodshed. Excellent pairing with ramp-marinated steak.

Woodsy aromas of raw meat, mushrooms, volcanic ash, and white pepper. Spicy notes of plum, earth, beef, and grilled peppers. Resolved tannins, good texture, but a little stodgy for me and not a wine I can drink a lot of.

Leads with cool dark cherry & a touch of berry fruit. With air a bit of black tea shows up. The fruit is ripe without feeling sweet. That tea note comes through to balance & nicely add a bit of complexity. Easy finish with robust flavors.

Dark and opaque. Blueberry fruit with fennel, black licorice and maple bar. Big bodied, modern and almost unctuously sweet with no signs of being 15 years old. Well made for what it is, but it isn't my kind of wine.

PnP, consumed over 2 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium ruby with no bricking. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with developing aromas of black cherry, blood orange, baking spice, and tomato leaf with hints of new shoe leather. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium- tannin, 14.2% abv, medium body, medium+ intensity with flavors of tart black cherry, blood orange, and herbs with a medium+ finish. A very good wine overall with excellent complexity, intensity, and length. Can drink now or over next 2-4 years.

PnP, consumed over 4 hours. Appearance: Clear, dark ruby with just the slightest edge bricking. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity, blackberry, black cherry, black olive, leather, dark earth, and black pepper. Palate: Dry, medium acid and tannin, 14.4% abv - would have guessed 14.7% - 15.0%, medium intensity, medium+ body with flavors of black olive, ripe blackberry, black pepper, leather, and tobacco with a medium+ finish. Overall a very good wine excelling in complexity and length, seems to be at peak or just past (bottle was purchased upon release and stored in my passive basement cellar) - drink now or over next 2 years.

Holding up quite well. Plenty of dark berry fruit, with great components of herb, tea, and a bit of pepper spice (whole cluster). Nice creamy midpalate with nice acid support. Likely has several years of life left at least.

Very moreish. Lovely nose of raspberry essence, sherbet and newly-rained on earth. Substantial mouth of milk chocolate, ruby red grapefruit, blueberries and eucalyptus bark. Long finish of licorice, Maltesers and plum skins. I think I can even detect some toasted oak halfway through the finish.
Virtually no sediment leading me to believe that is not going to develop much further.

Arrived the other day from a recent winery offering of the 2008 vintage Jemrose and Judge Syrahs. PnP'd. Seamless and balanced with plush dark mouthwatering fruits and a lengthy chalky finish. This is in a great place and should easily age another 5 years before declining.

Nice. Dried dark blueberries & a little black cherry to it, with some florals beneath that on the nose & some stemmy black spice showing here & there. Touch warm in the midpalate, but otherwise decent backend balance. I'll probably drink my one remaining bottle in the next year-ish

This wine has an old world quality to it, for better or worse. Rustic notes of raw meat, beef jerky, asparagus, and green peppercorns. Plenty of tannins. Not much of a finish though.
