3/18/2018 - bacchusnyon wrote: 90 pointsfirst of three from this producer - the other two are upscale. Very powerful, racy and obviously still young Chambolle. Almost tickles your palate, and with a long fruit-filled finish. Will be amazing when it settles down and I look forward to the other cuvees. |

8/31/2016 - JonnyG Likes this wine: 90 pointsSomewhat floral nose along with dried raspberries and blackberries. Not especially generous on the palate, and a touch green, with notes of black and green pepper. More tart than I prefer. Should let sleep for a while, I think. |

4/10/2016 - ageverett Likes this wine: 92 pointsNeeded some vino for the back nine of the Masters, so popped this little 375mL bottle. Not quite as intriguing as I recall from tasting a few months ago. Solid stuff, but missing the funk and depth I remembered. Maybe just in a bit of a dumb phase. |

7/8/2023 - ricard Likes this wine: 94 pointsVillages or no villages, this is absolutely delicious. Fleshy, fruity, rich and spicy, concentrated and sweet. Real lip-smacking stuff. Best village Burgundy I've had this week and that includes several vintages of Dujac. Recommended by Jeremy Seysses. Splendid, opulent even. Luscious. |

9/19/2019 - acyso wrote: 93 pointsDinner at Nico Osteria (Chicago, IL): This has typically been a producer I've avoided because of fears it was too ripe or modern or oaky or whatnot. Maybe those fears have been partially unfounded. The nose here is stunning, with plenty of beautiful red fruit and some really impressive perfume. That fruit profile is very true for the vintage. The oak doesn't show up until the palate, but even then it's not overdone. Yes, it comes off as a bit of brown spice and a little astringency, but I think with age this will wear off. |

Started out more in the strawberry camp but darkened up with air. Nice acidity giving the fruit a good kick. Has a bit of peppery thing on the finish as well. Actually liked this a bit better on first pour (after about a hour decant) as fruit was a bit more in the background with time. Still quite nice and managed to find this at a semi-reasonable tariff. |
