Lovely nose Juicy and fleshy on the palate then warm spiced fruit and firm but silky textured tannins. Medium plus length. Savoury and briny on the back palate. lovely for what it is and it's relative youth. |

11/25/2016 - anders_bjorn Likes this wine: 91 pointsBeautiful nose filled with toffee, mint, sage, muddled dark fruits and sweet liquorice. A whiff of medium roasted coffee. Concentration is medium to medium+. The palate is fresh with fruit reminiscent of warm, fresh cassis as well as cassis jam and dark plums. Tannins are m, well integrated and fine-grained. Mid-palate is dominated by the acidity and tannin. However, the fruit is not really shining through, which lowers my overall impression of the wine. Palate is just above medium concentration, body is m, length is m+. 91+ |

Nose of earth, lots of oak, bell pepper. Leaner style palate, elegant but the tannins are not really ripe as they are a touch rustic at the finish. Also aromatically not very complex. After all these disappointments with CabSav on this trip I am I am really giving on this varietal for Margaret River. I don't understand why people praise this region for CabSav. The Chards are nice not the CabSav. If it has to be AUS CabSav I would chose Coonawarra on any day. |

3/29/2017 - Helenachuck Likes this wine: 93 pointsDeep ruby color, ruby rim, dark but not opaque, very clear. The nose is warm, complex, but feminine - a characteristic that applies to the wine as a whole. There is cabernet essence, lead pencil, cassis, and very young, clean fruit essence. On the palate, the pedigree and class are evident as well. Concentrated but pure elegant fruit notes are prominent, but the theme is restraint and purity rather than power. There are no off notes, and the clarity of fruit and balance of fruit and acidity are great. I will say that in the first impression, when the wine was first opened, the finish seem short and one dimensional - an impression that falls away after an hour or two of air. The purity of this wine reminds me of Moss Wood Estate bottlings- another Margaret River property. Very fine, for those of you who appreciate elegance and balance. |

4/4/2017 - pavel_p Likes this wine: 91 pointsAustralia trip; 3/25/2017-4/10/2017 (Australia): At estate over lunch. One of the best Cabs I had in Margaret River. Garnet with purple reflections. Young but with good balance. Dark berries and moderate oak which should be absorbed by the concentrated fruit over the next few years. Medium body with good freshness. Well done but at $85 not a great deal. 91-92 Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (3) |

5/7/2017 - rmalloy Likes this wine: 87 pointsThis wine reminds me of a Loire red (e.g., Chinon) with its lean structure, soft tannins, tart plum fruit, and herbal aromas. I am surprised by the style given my (not very well-informed, I admit) sense that Australian reds are typically bloated and overripe. Although I enjoy this wine, I find the JS rating of 97 shocking and inexplicable. 3 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

5/25/2017 - BadOyster wrote: 92 pointsMuch overhyped. A restrained cab, with a mix of bright red and dark fruits on the nose, with a healthy spice and cedar. On the palate, the same fruits shine through up front, followed by a nice 15 second finish with swirling fruit and savory flavors (e.g. leather, clove, cedar). The "freshness" of a very slight green, herbal streak is present accenting the acidity that feels very much like biting into a fresh tomato. Fine tannins, akin to cocoa powder. But the problem is that it doesn't "feel" like a 96-97 points wine - it doesn't take your breath away. There's a lack of excitement, a lack of integration, and a lack of length to really say that this wine deserves such marks. 92 points isn't "bad" - but it's not worth $40. |

11/27/2017 - jeffreylubowski wrote: 87 pointsGiven how much I like their chard and the extremely high JS score, this was a bit of a let down. Light bodied and very red fruited, but boring and even a bit candied. Honestly this was like a 17 dollar Loire red. I would have never guessed cab and certainly not Australia, but I suppose leeuwin and Margaret river do their own thing. Maybe it's just not my style or needs 5 years. |

12/1/2017 - Jeppy Does not like this wine: 85 pointsI’m really disappointed with this bottle. I bought 4 based on tasting noes and it is just a thin, tart wine. Not worth $20 let alone $40. I hope this bottle was an anomaly and the other bottles live up to the ratings. |

12/25/2017 - Goldstone Likes this wine: 92 pointsOpened a couple of hours ahead of a leisurely home-cooked Christmas lunch at our rented place in the Margaret River. Bought from the local Woolworths supermarket for US$50. Totally opaque dense black-ruby colour. Nose is dense but alluring sun-warmed black asphalt road and dense confit but fresh smelling blackcurrant and hints of vanilla. Palate is immediate blackcurrant pastilles followed by great fresh blackcurrant acidity and immediate resonance inside the head even on the mid palate... then a dryish firm tannic structured finish that shows its youth. Fabulous length, resonance and reverberance on the finale. Elegant and powerful... beautifully made and exhibiting all the purity and powerful elegance of really top-tier Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon. Young but already drinking splendidly and this will continue to improve over the coming 5 years for sure. All that said, you have to accept that the Margaret River style of Cabernet Sauvignon (and Shiraz) is very thin and feminine by the standards of most countries or even other parts of Australia. This is a monster by Margaret River standards (we drank the 2011 a few days later, which was much thinner). Merry Christmas! 92+ |

6/11/2018 - gouldcampbell77 Likes this wine: 90 pointsScrewcap. Youthful dark ruby colour. Very savoury nose of brambles, dark berries, mint and a hint of eucalyptus. Again on the palate, savoury and dry. There's good fruit concentration and very fine sandy tannins but there's nothing remotely new world about this. Very Bordeaux like in feel and structure. Still too young - wait another three years before the next one. |
