Tasted after Vaudésir, this shows even more depth and complexity - floral, notes of citrus fruit, spices, minerality, oyster shell. Quite pretty and surprisingly open at this stage. On the palate this is much tighter, very mineral and really powerful opening towards the end to reveal an impressively long and lingering finish. A wonderful wine to look forward to! 94-95+

Les Portes d'Or de la Bourgogne - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Chablis France): Tasting, brief note. Just as concentrated as Bougros Cote de Bouguerots but with richer, bigger fruit profile. However, I found it slightly less textured and slightly shorter. Still VG+ potential, 92-95 points for me.

Domaine William Fèvre 2014 Seminar (Plum Market - Chicago IL): More opulent fruit vs Bougros Cotes Bouguerots, with slightly more spice and concentration. But less energy and classic minerality, so I give the slight nod to the Bougros.

Slight perfume in the nose, hint of flowers. Superb balance with all elements nicely integrated. Crisp finish that is very long. Normally I wouldn't use the word "finesse" with Chablis, but here I think it fits.

So fine and elegant yet powerful and complex. There are aromas of dried flowers, honeysuckle, citrus, oyster shell and mint. It has superb intensity and is strewn with geological matter. It has fabulous posture and a finish that is sharp and completely in focus.

Blind Chablis Tasting (River Forest, IL): Tasted blind in Chablis flight. Green apple and lemon zest. Moderate weight with minerality and good acidity on finish. Clearly bright and youthful, but I would think this best from now through the next few years. My 5th favorite of the blind tasting, the group's 4th.

Bright green-tinged yellow. Pure, precise nose of lime, white flower, and crushed rock. Penetrating acidity delivers intense minerality and concentrated citrus flavors. Refined and pure yet so powerful and dense. The 2014 Les Clos is going to mature into a powerhouse Chablis. While enjoyable now, this offers little immediate advantage over lesser crus. Let this rest. Drink starting 2022.

La Paulée Grand Tasting of 2014 Vintage Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): Quite light color. Fragrant, floral high tones. More body and texture than the Bouguerots, but hardly authoritative feeling Clos. Broad feel with average acidity, some wood, limestone, and lemon. More complexity than power or grip.

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty - New York NY): Tasting, brief note. Cross-section of yellow and green apples here. Slighter ripe and more opulent vs Bouguerots, but with less concentration. Very good+ now, with future upside.

Green-tinged yellow. A nose of laser focus, with citrus, white flower, and crushed rock notes. On the palate, acidity and minerality wrap citrus flavors in prelude to a concentrated, long finish. The 2014 Les Clos will be an epic Chablis with rest. Drink starting 2022.

A bit shocked by the high rating on this wine. A solid wine with good minerality and acidity, yet there is a lack of substance and intensity for a great grand cru chablis. Some lemon peel, apple and stone on the nose and palate.

A well-delineated nose of citrus and oyster shell. Attractive salinity on the palate alongside apple flavors, racy acidity, medium-light weight. Drink starting 2020.

A Whiter Shade of Pale: Featuring Killer Chablis (Martina, Mpls): Pale gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. The nose was ahead with the palate gaining speed over the hour. This seemed a bit more coiled and in need of more time. The minerality is there, but I don't get that Fevre earthiness that I look for as a signature. Bold fruit, lemon-lime, tart apple, very tart and coiled, Meyer lemon, brisk with wow length though. As expected, youthful with huge upside. Give this 2 to 4 years. 93+(+)pts.

colour not quite bright
bouquet closed and remained so for 2-3 hours, suspect the 300 yr old technology of bark was influencing the wine, beyond that, classic seaspray oyster shell flavour tight but powerful palate, dips on finish
