Dark red; typical young CdP expression; lots of sweetness, full-bodied, little hint of tannins, broad and encompassing

Tasted at a wine store, definitely needs food to accommodate it. I tend to not like these overdone hedonistic wines. Some people will love it me I can’t get along with it. 88-89pts if im being sweet.

Dark cherry fruit but cleaner than the last wine I just had. Spicy and fleshy, lively stuff. Lively texture on the palate, good stuff as it goes.

A very fruity C9P, dark fruits, herbal notes maybe even floral and the classic kirsch note. Not very tannic so easy to drink young. Its sweet but not hedonistic. A LOT of deposits so maybe filter it. Overall a good Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Can't wait to try la Crau soon from the same producer.

The Brunier brothers do it again. This is absolutely delicious. Blended from younger vines in their portfolio, this drinks beautifully right out of the bottle. Lovely violets and raspberries in the nose, joined by blackberries and eucalyptus on the palate. A delicate, yet substantial finish. This could accompany almost any meal — tonight with salmon, oyster mushroom pasta and roasted vegetables in Los Olivos. Drink now to 2027. Outstanding.

Young CDP always falls on the sweeter side for me so we opened this up for our 4th of July grilling and it didn’t disappoint. Red and black fruited with loads of garrigue and lavender specifically. Easy drinking and delicious but the price is hard for me to be excited about, particularly for a bottle meant to be drank quite young.

Started with the Telegramme, continued with Janasse (basic cuvée) - same year, same price tag; Telegramme was nice and refined, really likeable, but also clearly overpowered by Janasse, which have more of everything (fruit, power, intensity); at the end down to style preference; I preferred the Janasse more-of-everything, which the majority did, however, a smaller minority preferred Telegramme; in my view, however, neither wine is world class, but clearly very good; at this quality level, my preference is with Janasse, but I do see the qualities of the more “reserved” Telegramme

80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 6% Mourvèdre, 4% Cinsault. Brunier family's 2nd CDP.
___________

Color: Medium to med-dark ruby. (noticably light).

Nose: Beautiful, perfumey, nose of southern France. Redolent of dried cherry, raspberry, and garrigue spice. Nice complexity.

Palate: Full body (14.5% alc.), yet light on its feet. Excellent flavor intensity and excellent length. Soft tannins, but tart acids (typical of CdP). Excellent balance. Silky, fine, and elegant. Delicious!

This wine has soul and beautifully reflects its southern Rhône terroir. This is a lovely second wine. Well done Famille Brunier!

Now: 91-92 solid.
Potential: 92-93.
Peak drinking window: 2024-2029.

Just had Torbreck Cuvée Juvenile so used that as a baseline. This is more defined, equally evolved and very tasty. But for me at twice the price you have think about it. It wins by a personality, hope you can find it for less than $40.

Télégramme never disappoints, but the 2020 is still very young, too young, I would say. If my memory serves me correctly, the one I tasted about a year ago had more weight and body.

Télégramme is so smooth and balanced that it almost drinks itself, and it has these wonderful, lingering tannins that last up to a minute after. My verdict: good now, but not yet at its best.

--------

Young, packed with fruit, good intensity and a mineral feel, trademark of the house. I would opt to wait a couple of years, at least, will last 10 years easily. Served by the glass - but from a new bottlle.

– tasted non-blind over 10 minutes –

– bottle opened yesterday –

NOSE: not much going on; kirsch; no depth; closed?
TASTE: hard to get many specific flavors here; non-descript red fruits; fine drying tannins; elegant; loose structure; not huge; disappointing for what I was expecting; may simply need tons of time to open up? Perhaps opening this yesterday hurt it? Confusing.

Boys nite II, fall 2010 (Reno, NV): This wine was singing tonight after being in the decanter for a couple of hours... very aromatic, floral, fruity, primary with lovely depth and texture. Balanced wine with great length and intensity... good complexity at this young age... very good finesse, a very fine texture, great expression of place. Clearly an 'outstanding' wine that has a long life ahead of it.

Decanted two hours, drunk over the next four. Drinking extremely well for a young wine, dark fruits and earthiness, tannins are present but do not detract, medium and clean finish. Great palate. I think this will continue to drink well young while waiting for the 07s to come around.
