9/15/2016 - Jeff Leve wrote: 89 pointsReally peppery, with a bright freshness to the fruits and a strong herbal component, time should hopefully add more softness to the wine. The wine was whole cluster fermented, so it will take a bit of time to get a better idea on its true nature. But if you are a lover of this style, this blend of 85% Grenache and 15% old vine Syrah is worth looking into. |

1/22/2017 - THaas Likes this wine: 89 pointsNicely balanced, with spice, smoke, earth, and fruit (cherry and raspberry) in elegant harmony. Enough weight to be felt, but not overpowering. Long finish. Good QPR; would drink with a nice roast or stew now through 2023. |

7/29/2017 - mp6283 wrote: 87 pointsDense garnet color, not much distinct on the nose: some cherry, obvious alcohol. Cherries, some cinnamon-like spice on the palate. A little lighter than expected. A touch of heat from the 15% alcohol. Not too complex but decent every day wine. |

1/18/2018 - Wine Ratings wrote: 86 pointsA suitable expression of CDR at a good value, even if not overly intriguing. Having tasted this bottle in various states - twice through Coravin and then over the course of a few days once opened – I think I experienced about all there was to experience from it. Potentially a beast at 15%, it actually drank less heavy than one might expect and provided a pretty solid range of notes once the initial burst of ripe fruit toned down. Both nose and palate were juicy right away, those ripe fruits consisting of blueberry, currants, baked plum, and red/black cherry. Following quickly behind were touches of mint, fennel, and pepper, with notable-but-not unruly oak/cedar spice. The midpalate was full of gravelly, mossy flavours, before transitioning more towards coffee and cocoa on the initial finish. As the wine opened up more (and particularly on day 2) it displayed plenty of meatiness, smoke, and tar, along with dried, prune-like fruit. All in all, there were hints of just about everything you would anticipate finding in a southern Rhone red; just being present wasn’t quite enough, however, as those hints never fully brought the conviction necessary to bump this bottle much beyond the median. Still, if you’re looking for solid CDR representation you could do a lot worse for $23! |

2/20/2018 - Mark4w Likes this wine: 89 pointsFruit forward. Low tannins. Very smooth. Great sipping wine. 80/20 Grenache/Syrah. Similiar to Tres Picos but smoother and better for only slightly more. Phillipe Cambie is Vintner who produces some very good wines. |

3/15/2018 - VinCrush wrote: 88 pointsAverage red wine with hints of Rhone profile. Timid nose holds back. Palate is a little more generous especially on the long finish. Moderate pepper and spice with just about of tannic grip at the very end. Nothing in the range of game, underbrush, etc. Certainly not bad. But not worth stocking up on it. www.vincrush.com |

8/21/2017 - Jeff Leve wrote: 92 pointsWith a nose that starts with charcoal, smoke, stone, pepper and red fruits. From there, when you move to palate, the wine is medium bodied, round, soft and polished, finishing with ripe, juicy cherries and thyme in the finish. You can drink this young, as well as age it for further development. |

10/24/2019 - La Cave d'Argent Likes this wine: 93 pointsThis deep ruby wine is a blend of 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre. Offering rich aromas and flavors of dark bramble fruits, Provençal herbs, smoke, licorice and loamy earth, it is a medium-to-full-bodied, freshly acidic offering with silky-textured tannins, seamless oak and well-woven alcohol (despite being listed as 15%). Solid on the mid-palate and finishing with impressive length, this hedonistic Châteauneuf makes it hard to put down the glass. Already drinkable, it should continue to provide pleasure throughout the next decade. Drink now-2030. |

8/21/2017 - Jeff Leve wrote: 95 pointsFrom 100% old vine Grenache that comes from vines in the clay soils planted in the La Crau lieu-dit that are over 100 years of age. With all the density of fruit and flavor, this is concentrated and long, that is also providing you with a real sensation of minerality from the moment you meet the juicy, kirsch nose. On the palate the wine is rich, fat, and juicy, with sweet, pure, red fruits, polished tannins and an opulent personality. |

4/30/2019 - Stephen Rash Likes this wine: 91 pointsOpaque purple to dark garnet 8n color; fruit dominant nose of black cherry and red plum with subtle hints of cinnamon, smoke, and mocha as it opens up; tart cherry, red plum, and pepper on the palate; medium(+) body, medium alcohol, medium(+) acidity, medium(+) tannins; long, tart finish. Fruit dominant on the nose and palate with hints of secondary flavors and aromas as it opens up. Tart fruit and acidity liven up the mid-palate and last into the long finish. Tannins are restrained with slight grip. |

6/12/2020 - Portland Seth Likes this wine: 94 points100% Grenache. As such, the best Grenache I've ever had. On the other hand, Syrah and Mourvedre are sorely missed. Improved substantially with an hour of air. Cherry hand pie, cedar, maraschino cherry and a hint of garrigue. Jeb Dunnuck rated this 98 pts, but it lacks bass notes for me. Still, very tasty. |
