Organically farmed, aged for 22 months in FR oak, 60% new and 16 months in bottle. Pronounced herbaceous and dense aroma of nettle, blackcurrants, blackberries, liquorice, black olives, bay leaves, violets, black pepper. Medium body, fresh, concentrated and herbaceous with deep multilayered flavours, slightly spicy, fine tannins, long finish. |

4/10/2022 - Eric Becker Likes this wine: 93 pointsIl Caberlot Vertical at Summa 2022 (Weingut Alois Lageder, Margreid, South Tyrol): Quite difficult to assess as this vintage feels very youthful and not fully formed yet. Certainly ripely dark-fruited, but also spicy and sweaty on the nose. In the mouth the wine is full-bodied and juicy, however, it turns a little tart and quickly closes up on the finish. The probabilities for another strong vintage seem high to me. |

Nice acidity, spice, lots of bramble, some plums, very primary; grippy tannins, some oak in the long ending. While still primary and young, it’s very approachable and of the highest quality. Wait 4-5 years and even then, decant for a couple hours. Outstanding. |

It starts on the palate with lots of dark fruit like blackberry, drifting elegantly to a finish with fine wood and spice. At the end of the long finish it shows some green notes. Good structure - very dense, very smooth tannin and well integrated acidity. All in all very nice and impressive. |

Overall it has a somewhat confectionery and roasted quality, but it stays fresh and balanced. Deep and textured, lots of plush tannins and significant weight. There's a very ripe fruit quality, but it has a lot of earthy drive too. Would be best with some meat, I think. |
