2004 Domaine Ramonet Bourgogne-Aligotémore |
11/17/2005 - Will wrote: NRTasting at Ramonet (2004, 2003 and others) (Ramonet cellars): Very fresh and acidic, a bit oaky on the nose, flowery notes but still quite thin on the palate. A simple, easy wine. |

10/17/2008 - Will wrote: NRPretty much same impression as last time: nice wine, oak treatment a bit obtrusive, not particularly reminiscent of Aligote, good QPR. Will hold for some time but not sure the oak isn't going to win in the end. |

7/11/2007 - Will wrote: NRSince my father comes from the area where this is produced, he has drunk a lot of aligoté and wasn't particularly impressed with that wine. I liked it more than he did, I thought it had nice focus and minerality, especially for a wine with this pedigree, but my father's point was that an aligoté is supposed to be crispy and fruity and this one definitely wasn't. It was more like Petit Chablis. |

2008 Ca' del Baio Barbera d'Alba Paolinamore |
6/29/2010 - Will Likes this wine: NRReally good stuff, easy drinking but way better than most Barberas. Exceptional for a 6 euros bottle. |

1996 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon La Croix BoisséeCabernet Franc more |
10/19/2008 - Will wrote: NRVery nice and expressive, secondary aromas and pure fruit, I would say "burgundian" nose and silky feeling in the mouth. Unfortunately the finish is really clipped, which really detracts from the whole experience. |

7/28/2006 - Will wrote: NRI was very impressed by this wine that delivered much more than I thought it would. Very pure fruit with a lot of minerality as well as vegetal aromas (more prominent on day 2, especially the green bell pepper), nice acidity, soft tannins. A very "vertical" wine. Delicious. |

2001 Clos Rougeard (Foucault) Saumur-ChampignyCabernet Franc more |
12/13/2006 - Will wrote: NRVery burgundian in character, important acidity that lifts the wine. Pure, delineated fruit. Lacking a bit of complexity, though, but it might come with age. |

1/11/2009 - Will wrote: NRFlavour profile is more Bdx but with a Burg delicacy, interesting mix. Drinking nicely although will certainly age well, I have to look into this more. |

2007 Charles Joguet Chinon Clos du Chêne VertCabernet Franc more |
3/14/2014 - Will Likes this wine: NRRustic and seductive at the same time. Very Cabernet on the nose, nice tannins, very expressive and at the same time soft and understated, starting to show some evolution. A treat, really my type of Chinon. |

10/29/2009 - Will wrote: NRCabFranc is obvious, Chinon maybe less so, a bit oaky but well integrated at this stage, very floral. Delicious. |

6/5/2005 - Will wrote: NRA selection of Weinbach wines with Laurence Faller (Strasbourg, France): The nose is really superb and in the mouth the wine is huge and round, incredibly mouth-filling. This is a truly beautiful wine with very ripe fruit and an impression of sweetness leading to a very long finish. This is a BIG BIG BIG wine and not for the faint of heart. A beauty. |

1/19/2006 - Will wrote: NRAlready quite advanced with strong sous-bois/mushroom notes and smooth tannins, a very good aged cabernet - I was expecting something stronger and younger from this vintage but in the end I think I liked this version better... |

1985 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom PérignonChampagne Blend more |
4/2/2005 - Will wrote: NRThis wine evolved tremendously over the course of the evening. At first there is some kind of Dom Perignon signature, it is unmistakably a DP, with typical finesse and elegance (especially very fine bubbles). Paired with veal/cream/morilles it revealed itself, developing nutty aromas and then toasty notes. In the end (after a couple of hours) other characteristics appeared with strong torrefacted notes. The nose was a real beauty, the palate was superb with all the time this particular elegance, but the most impressive for me was the finish. A great champagne experience. |

NV Gosset Champagne BrutChampagne Blend more |
9/12/2005 - Will wrote: NRFirst nose is quite harsh (very acid with aggressive bubbles) but it gets better with time. All inall still a touch too acidic and aggressive for me, but decent for a brut NV level. Got better with a bit of air, and paired quite well with food (veal and pasta in a mushroom/caramelised onions/cream sauce). |

NV Champagne Raymond Boulard Champagne Rosé de SaignéeChampagne Blend more |
12/31/2004 - Will wrote: NRVery dark rosé, rather surprising colour. Fine bubbles, thick mousse, almost fat in the mouth, good length. Not a blockbuster but a very nice champagne rosé that goes particularly well with food (try with smoked slamon and cream). |

11/27/2004 - Will wrote: NRImpressive young champagne already showing some aged champagne characteristics, with very fine bubbles. Still very young and needs time but has the potential to become a truly great champagne. Not particularly interesting to drink right now, hold for at least 4-5 years (assuming you like aged champagne). |

4/29/2005 - Will wrote: NRIn line with the NV version, just much better (if that was possible!). Incredibly yeasty, fresh bread aromas and some oak/vanilla notes. The sheer power of this wine is amazing, with an incredible finish. Truly one of the greatest champagnes I've ever had. |
