Not a blockbuster on the nose at this point, but so flavorful and satisfying on the palate. Really nicely aged and ready to drink. Nice stuff.

Some pretty significant sediment at the bottom of the bottle so be careful serving this.

Fruity on the nose and flavorful on the palate. Tasty and drinkable. Only downside for me was that the fruit felt a little fake at times, and I caught an occasional "off" raisiny note on the finish. At $5.99 this is a good value. Went well with food.

Pale straw in color with just a touch of cloudiness. Reminscent of a Muscadet if I was tasting it blind. Inviting touch of lemon on the nose along with a salty note that reminded me of the seashore. Very clean and quite dry. Nice wine. Sample for review.

Needs significant time to open. Medium-dark color. Fairly limited aromatically but flavorful. Pretty basic red wine flavors. A little tart. Medium-high acidity. A little harsh on the finish, less so when consumed with pasta Bolognese. I'd expect this to soften and improve with age.

Extremely satisfying. Dark opaque purple. Dried dark fruit on the nose with some secondary (intriguing) ripe apricot aromas. Firm but forgiving tannins. Floods the palate with flavor. Fantastic wine. Will buy more from this producer again. Trust the rhino.

A wild, untamed young beast. Exotic aromas of Indian baking spices and teriyaki beef jerky. Powerful flavors with sweet but prominent tannins. Really interesting. I'd definitely like to see where this is in a few years.

What a delicious and versatile wine. Kind of reminded me of a Lambrusco in a good way. Light and elegant with a touch of fizz. Generous aromatically so fruity. Hard to stop drinking. Just 5.5% alcohol. Goes so nicely with pasta dishes and soups. Luscious and refreshing. Hard to imagine half bottles of this not being put to good use. Enjoyed it at room temp as well as chilled. A fascinating discovery.

Just an average wine with noticeable off tastes (metallic, vegetal, not so good). Such a disappointment from this otherwise reliable and perennial value producer of primo Napa Cab. I'd be stunned if WS goes 90 points on this one. Stunned.

The thing I like about this wine is how its aromas and flavor profile align with what I associate with more expensive Napa Cabernet. As I smell an empty glass I get black currant, rich generous fruit and savory aspects that are extremely appealing. Cinnamon too. Makes me want to refill the glass.

The things separating this wine from one that's more expensive are occasional off notes, a lack of density, and a need to be aged in order for the tannins to soften. But for immediate consumption I think it would fare better than a lot more expensive wines. It's delicious and approachable.

Overall, the combination of the flavor profile with its convivial daily drinker nature make it a slam dunk if you can find it for around $15 (I paid $13.99 but WineSearcher averages trend higher across the country).

I've had this vintage a couple times now and I don't think I'm going to buy any more. Whereas the fabulous 2010 seemed to get better and better each time I'd open one, this one has a lot of rough edges, comes off as hot at times, and has a peculiar bell pepper note on the finish. So shows signs of a hot vintage (highish alcohol and depth of flavor) and a cold one (vegetable notes). If this is just in a bad place now and rallies it'll be one of the biggest comebacks ever.

Fun to check in on the wine that got me into wine a few years later with a different vintage.

The color appears more dark red than purple to me. On the nose I get perfectly-ripe black cherries and violets. Very elegant for my tastes. On the palate the tannins are silky smooth. Flavors of blackberries and mocha. A little earth. Really beautiful.

Drinking very nicely at this point in time. I don't think it's too young.

This wine felt to me like a fragmented experience: It didn't seem very well integrated. Somewhat limited aromatically, fruit and some tannic bite on the palate and then a big oak presence. Overall, quite drinkable and perhaps enjoyable but somehow it didn't come together as a complete offering for me.

Smoky with drying tannins that overwhelm the fruit. Nearly opaque and the alcohol feels more present than the 14.5% on the label. Reminds me of cinnamon toothpicks the ice cream man sells. Strange wine from Napa.

I think I can find similar from Chile for $18.
