3/8/2012 - dsgris Likes this wine: 88 pointsDark ruby, blackberry, raspberry nose. Dry tart fruity tannins, tart berries, strong fruit and body, initial hit of alumn fades to fruit. Nice mouthfeel, soft but with a acid/tannin element on the finish. A day later the balance is very smooth, the fruit bold and mildly sweet, not really the subtle quality I enjoy, but should be pleasing to many who prefer the bold fruit style. |

12/25/2014 - dsgris Likes this wine: 93 pointsInky dark, almost black purple. Blackberry, black cherry nose. Dry, ripe plums, bold, but not jammy fruit, mineral, leather all blending into a complex, balanced wine. Drinking great now. Not your restrained AFWE Italian red by any means. |

12/2/2010 - dsgris wrote: 88 pointsDark ruby, not a strong nose, raspberry. Dry red with a little acid bite, medium body, nice fruit and acid balance, tannins on the finish, very nice. After a cellar clearing of plonk, it is nice to have a descent drinker. While not up to the WS rating, it is a good QPR. |

5/14/2013 - dsgris Likes this wine: 92 pointsInky dark purple, ripe cherries, iodine. Dusty dry, medium fruit, tart lemon zest, pomegranate, cherry. Light body with fresh mouthfeel, nice acid, light tannin balance. Good food wine. Much better on night two, just a little initial bitter detracts out of the gate, but diminishes and is not offensive. It keeps getting better, a little pine and iodine tonight with a hint Brett that is small enough to give more complexity. Further reasons to not drink before it's time. A couple more years in this puppy. |
