It’s nearly full bodied with lush acid and a bit of creaminess, the palate delivers pear, guava, lemon curd, honeysuckle and finishes with a limey zest. This is very enjoyable now, but I think it will be at its best in 3-5 years. |

Aromas of unbuttered popcorn, preserved lemon, light caramel, kiwi skin, cantaloupe, and pear. Full bodied with a dense, mineral-driven acid and fleshy mouthfeel. Beautiful structure and balance. Flavors include sweet lemon peel, kiwi, white peach, orchid, and flinty. The finish is decently persistent and very juicy. This is special stuff, and makes me extra sad that Buty is no longer. Drink this in the next year. |

I have enjoyed semillon in the past so maybe it is the inclusion of muscadelle, which sounds to me like some wild crude grape off the trees in rural Tennessee. So you should probably listen to those who know better, as I am apparently still a hopeless red wine guy, in spite of attempts to broaden myself. But if like me, your favorite wine is chateaux latour or andrew will sorella, or even rioja, then you may want to pass on this. |
