On the light side of medium for a Bdx blend, sort of delicate with good balance and structure for what it is. Not my favorite but three or four had it in their top three or two. Have another one and will wait at least five years. |

12/10/2023 - Colorado3G Likes this wine: 90 points8 People - Spring Mountain AVA Blind tasting with 4 different bottles/wineries from Spring Mtn - three 2018 and one 2017....yes we poured 32 wine glasses all at once for the blind. The Juslyn averaged 3rd place with a Newton SM in last place for all and Barnett on top for most with a Kukeri '17 sitting in second. The Kukeri though we believe is a NDA. Everyone placed the Barnett above the Juslyn, however all were very good. |

Wine is much softer and better integrated than it was out of the decanter several hours ago, but tannins are rather heavy, indicating this could still benefit from several more years of bottle aging. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Came across some bottles at a nice price ($45) and decided to give it a shot. Dark ruby fruit - dark cherry, currants, blackberry, and some plum. Solid depth/concentration but the tannins need more time to soften/integrate. Decanted for a couple hours but that wasn’t enough. I’ll refrain from rating this bottle because it clearly needs time. We’ll see where it goes over the next couple days. Interesting that this wine is listed on the Winery website for $210. I might have to lay a couple bottles down at $45 to see where it goes over the coming years but I’m surprised that anyone is paying $210 - there are better options at that price point in my opinion. 98% cab and 2% merlot. 2 people found this helpful, do you?
