The palate is densely packed with a slightly oily and viscous mouth feel. It develops a touch of honey on the palate without being really sweet. I like this and it goes fabulously with an array of plates (roasted cauliflower, Hamachi crudo & a burrata plate). This is organic and natural. I'm told the grapes come from a vineyard next door to Valentini. |

1/20/2024 - gregg g wrote: NRTakes about 60 minutes to coax out the typical Chablis characteristics. Rich citrus fruits, mother of pearl salinity. The acid is there, but the dense fruit is overpowering at the moment. I suspect with time this will flesh out. Longish finish. Very good. |

5/27/2022 - gregg g wrote: NRDamn this is great. Slow oxd for 8 hrs. First taste, super tight and wound, with grippy tannin, smells of strawberry and pine forest. Brought to dinner. It was starting to show its wares as we enjoyed this over 3 hrs. Revealed more layers of aromatic joy and drank well, even better with the mushroom lasagna. Violets and saddle leather appear. This is great stuff. Could easily be a ringer for reliable Barbaresco. Only one bottle left. Maybe 5 yrs. |

7/17/2021 - gregg g wrote: NRA B. Wasserman selection so I'm very intrigued. Pretty tight at first, but eventually opens up with an obvious pineapple aroma. This follows on the very tart and acidic palate. As it gets more air, it starts to round out bringing the very natural flavors to the forefront. Texturally, the wine is delicate and lacey. The flavors linger on the finish. Day two finds this wine at what I would say is well balanced. Beautifully integrated flavors and structure. With more fruit depth and complexity, this would be a stellar wine. |

4/7/2022 - gregg g wrote: NRI miss the wildness that I found captivating in previous vintages of this rosato. It’s a decent wine, but nothing more. Very tart cranberry crunchiness that finishes slightly astringent (stems?) and short. Doubt I will buy in the future. |

6/8/2021 - gregg g wrote: NRA new producer for me. I'm loving this wine. A lovely floral, citrus scented bouquet. Very clean and pure flavors of lemon chiffon, with hints of butterscotch and coconut. Vibrant and full of energy. There's a mineral crisp edge that adds to the clean lifting acidity. A wonderful texture. This wine just pops and marries so well with food. This was my 6th of 10 purchased. A fantastic bargain at $22. |

5/29/2022 - gregg g wrote: NRUpon first pour, smells terrific with classic notes of lemony citrus with a floral element. The palate however is disjointed, lacking fruit definition and a clipped finish. The acid is bit overwhelming the fruit at the moment. Things become more harmonious within 2 hours, thankfully, with flavors coming together. The finish shows good length. May hold off a bit on my next bottle. I’ve loved F Carillons wines over the years and happy this wine shows it’s potential. |

5/27/2022 - gregg g wrote: NRI have consumed 4 bottles of this and remains a delicious, if simple Pinot. I prefer not to taste cola in PN which leads me to Oregon most often. Aromas are classic red fruited with some underbrush which continues on the palate. While it isn’t very complex it serves it’s purpose nicely. |

5/15/2022 - gregg g wrote: NRStarts out a touch flabby and disjointed with low acid with goopy fruit. Seems consistent with the vintage. After roughly 1.5 hours, this is singing. The acid has perked up, lifting the fruit to reveal apples and pear and nice sense of minerality. The fruit is much more focused, with more Chablis typicity, though missing the chalky notes I love in Chablis. I have no idea the future of this wine. It seems like I will drink the majority of my bottles sooner with a good decant. |

11/25/2023 - gregg g wrote: NRThis has really changed or at least this bottle. The acidity has perked up significantly. Very tight on opening, needing about 30-60 minutes of air. Lemon zest, oyster shell and minerals. Beautifully composed, pairing so well with a diverse array of food (tonight was fusilli with clams, Serrano, pecorino, garlic and roasted cherry tomatoes). It’s amazing how this wine went from low acidity and almost flabby to tight with punchy acidity. I have one bottle left that I will likely drink this coming year. 3 people found this helpful, do you? 9/24/2021 - gregg g wrote: NRAgreed with those saying consume in one day. Saved half the bottle for day two and the mousiness was overwhelming. Literally could not smell or taste this on day two. Saved it for day three to see if a miracle occurs. On day one, this is very nice, clearly natural, with a touch of spritzy texture. Olives and blue fruits dominate the flavors. Drinks long. Such a shame it doesn’t hold up. |

5/24/2020 - gregg g wrote: NRThis is a well endowed Bourgogne that punches well above it's weight. Drinks more like a village Mersault, rich, mineral and somewhat layered. The sweet citrus fruit slathers the palate with a long developed finish. There seems to be potential for bottle aging here to tone down the richness and add some complexity. This was a terrific qpr purchase at $18 (WineEx). |
