This followed two very fine Syrahs, one from Santa Cruz (Big Basin Mandala 2004) and another from OZ (Clarendon Hills Liandra), both excellent, but this high-octane Cab blew us away. I last tried this a couple of years ago, and thought it needed a couple of years for the tannins to integrate and the oak to reveal the fruit. What a difference! |

11/5/2014 - eschaefer Likes this wine: 94 pointsFull bodied with a deep garnet hue, but not totally opaque. Excellent texture and medium acidity, well integrated tannis. Well styled with cassis, black currant and dark berry fruit intense flavor but not overdone. Some toasty vanilla notes but not overoaked by any means. Hint of menthol and chocolate. Not far from being perfect. Highly recommended.
