This is fully mature. While the color is still holding, the quality of the nose and palate is faded. Some work is required to coax the perfumes and flavors (which run to the darker spectrum, with some brett). A simple table wine at this point, with better than expected acidity. 14,0% abv., drink now.

Audozed 2 hours; served non-blind over 2 nights. Suggest a 90 minute aeration in decanter if opening soon.

If last night's bottle was representative (purchased on release), this is getting a little long in the tooth as the acids seem to be having the upper hand on the fruit. Granted, I just did a PnP, and probably should have decanted one hour, but it was served during one of the many holiday weekend dinner parties at the house this weekend and was drained in no time by those that had been at it a while...so decanting wasn't necessary according to the well-watered guests. 14,0% abv (fully integrated).

From 750ml. Popped and poured. I have in the past enjoyed the more classic bottlings from Sang des Cailloux over the Cuvee Lopy, as I thought the former to be more aromatically engaging compared to the monolithic Lopy. Based on earlier bottles of the 2007, I wondered if the Cuvee Lopy would ever really open up. However, at ten years of age the 2007 Lopy is shedding its dense cloak, and developing into a more interesting wine. I look forward to following the remaining few bottles over the next few years.

Nose is hugely dark with tobacco. Palate is dominated by a preliminary tannic drying that is nicely integrated, along with dark berries and spice. Quite vibrant, so I don't 2016 is the end at all, could easily go on for another year or more (so I'm pushing up the drink by date to 2017.

Interesting bottle of wine. Slight fizz upon first tasting indicated it must have had some secondary fermentation. This just lasted for about 10 minutes in the glass and only detracted slightly from the good qualities of the wine. The Brett was not as emphatic as some other reviews have described, but definitely noticeable - a positive to my taste. This gave way to nice garrigue flavors, jammy but not big fruit, and supple tannins. Complex overall, with flavors coming and going and changing somewhat from sip to sip. Very good, although in a different way than I had expected.

Upon opening, this wine kind of lets its presence known. It had some spritz; it was dark, massive, and probably tooth-staining. It was alive, sort of like a crab irritated at being disturbed from what it hoped would be a long sleep. This definitely could age for years longer, but it is worth considering drinking now to capture some of its youthful exuberance.

The wine finally settled down after maybe an hour and a half, reaching a more placid but delicious state. The fruit came forward, although with a dry, tannic backbone. Its wonderful nose brought me back to a trip where I was standing in vineyards not far from Vacqueyras. Couldn't be from anywhere else. Really good vintage, too.

I got a slight headache from the 14.5 % alcohol, but it was worth it!

Dark, earthy with plenty of fruit. Not overly complex but flavorful, rich, simple but pleasant. Just a tad hot on the finish. Enjoyed it.

A top notch Vacqueyras, in a good vintage: with no surprise we've been delighted by : its dark red-close to black-colour, a nose of black fruits, leather and pepper, its well balanced body, mouthfiling and long lasting.
what has been a surprise was its relative freshness.
Can be kept in cellar for few years still: for us, it was the last one!

Open that bottle night. I forgot where/how I got this bottle, but picked it as an aged French wine in our cellar of WA wines. I really liked it! Tar, lavender, plenty of fruit. Excellent balance. Dark deep color. Very much alive, and a great reminder when I realized, after the fact, that it came from my CellarTracker friends Tom, Dennis, and Malcom during our first meeting/offline in 2011. Cheers guys!

Fairly expressive nose, with violets, warm leather and a hint of black pepper. The palate is dense, with dark plums, jerky, pepper, dissolved but assertive tannins and good acidity. Very good now and could probably stand another 5 years in the cellar.

Started out with cold blueberries and some aging aromas and barnyard. Paprika and a hint of newly unwrapped plastic flotation devices. The plastic smell takes over completely after few minutes and the wine turns undrinkable. even plastic and rubber on the palate together with utter lack of balance. Flaw!!

The fruit has racheted down since my last bottle in 2011, bringing out more tannin and acidity. Liked this more with the lusher fruit as this style does not lend itself so well to creating a classic ager as it lacks the elegance and complexity that you look to get over time.

Not quite as interesting as I was hoping. A very nicely made bottle, but with limited complexity. Nose was quite floral. Palate is full of dark fruit, leather, with a tart component, but didn't finish strong.

The wine is dark and concentrated, with a very primary nose but open right after opening. Black fruits, leather and spices. In the palate the wine is full bodied with tannins that are discernible but not protruding awkwardly. Good depth, some elegance and good finish. Will probably improve in the future.

Medium dark, dull red. Very funky roasted meat and black berry nose. Dry earthy black fruit flavours and a resolved finish.

Much nicer than a bottle a few years ago. This domaine is a sentimental favourite of my friend Bill and I. We even visited it in 2010 and chatted with Serge the owner/winemaker. Drank at 11 am after a damp walk.

Opened three hours prior. Blueberry, char siu pork, lavender, brioche, hot stones and grarrigue. So elegant and is not afraid to go deep. Through the layers of fruit and full body, there’s a feminine spirit. So revealing and very enjoyable now; the long aftertaste shows so much fruit and herb medley. This will age well. Drink 2020 - 2030.

Dark fruit, anise, underbrush, smoked meat on the nose. Sweet spread of dense fruit on the palate with a lovely line of acid, aromatic back notes with a long fruit-driven tannic finish. Great strength and character. 50 + 17 + 17 + 8 =92.
