11/29/2021 - iamandyc Likes this wine: 89 pointsMuch better with significant decant and 2nd day. It is heavy and plodding on PnP. Needs air to quiet things down. It's good body and mouthfeel but on the sweet side and not much going on besides fruit and oak. Ultimately becomes an easy drinker and crowd pleaser. Hard to be too picky for $20. |

Tnnins are present, but not overwhelming. Drinking wonderful now, yet I believe will continue to evolve and last another 3-4 years in the cellar. For less than $20, I have not found a better Napa Cab...stocking up on this one. |

Lots of sweet chocolate baking spices, and mocha. Short finish. A very flamboyant side with a bit of sweetness and grapes that I presume were picked late. That said, for ~$20, this is a good wine from Ray Signorello, that spent 16-months in 50% new French oak barrels. But, you're not getting a sense of place, or any type of complexity out of this. It does what it's likely supposed to at the price point however. I would drink again. |

4/24/2022 - daveyk39 wrote: 89 pointsNot as good as my first TN, vastly simpler than I recall. Not bad, mind you, just lacking and depth or complexity. Aromas of blackcurrant, licorice, crushed gravel and leather. Full-bodied. creamy and rich. Red and black fruit flavors, with a peppery finish. Broad muscular tannins add structure. |

4/4/2010 - jcable wrote: 86 pointsReally a great value and very well rounded. Nice floral and fruit forward nose, great inky ruby color in the glass, immediately approachable as a pop-and-pour, very balanced on the palette. Nothing special (no "oh wow" moments), but all around a solid wine and something worth having on hand. |

4/22/2010 - OTTnMIA wrote: 89 pointsMy wife and I were pleasantly surprised with this bottle. IT DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BREATHE A BIT, it had an awful plastic/american cheese nose when we first opened it, and took a solid hour to hour and a half in the decanter to blow off. Once there it was a very enjoyable Cab. Classic cherry and oak notes with even some of that tobacco or leather often found in Cali cabs. At sub-$20 this is great QPR! |

7/16/2010 - cabdrinker wrote: 88 pointsThis is a solid effort for < $20. I'm getting floral arrangement on the nose intermixed blackberry. P & P but it could have used some decanting. Loads of cherry and cranberry on the palate but found the structure to be very nicely layered with a silky texture. A bit of alcohol through the finish but see this this getting it's sea legs with a few years on it's side. A good QPR |

6/23/2008 - dre wrote: NRUpon first opening, this wine is hugely green and vegital. 2 hours in the decanter brings the dark fruit to the surface and really transforms this wine. Dusty, earth, cedar, vanilla and tobacco all are fairly harmonious. the acid is zippy but the body of the wine holds it in place. moderate + tannins mellow with the decant while the finish is long and vegetal with a sweet vanilla and worn leather that hangs on for a good minute. |

We all loved the bottle. Has nothing to do with the taste, but it is cool. I have no formal notes, but I remember a very dark color. Simple fruit aroma. And a very easy drink. smooth and delicious going down. |

It reminded me of a lesser Beringer "Knight's Valley", which is one of my favorite "go-to" wines. It had structure, medium bodied, with some length and a suitable finish. What else can one ask for in a wine that costs $25? Not too bad.... |
