7/30/2021 - Mrbuzz Likes this wine: 93 pointsThis wine reminds me of truffle mac-n-cheese...not in flavor, but more in the comfort food that is SO satisfying...able to be gobbled up without thinking...yet the mind is engaged and tastebuds activated with the added truffles...more so than just straight MNC. This wine is creamy, 1er worthy, and almost balanced too well...nothing stands out, kind of boring to me as I like unique things that scream something! Ripe orchard fruits(pear/apple)...tad sweetness, but like a sweet lemon...crisp and super crystalline pureness...plenty citrus cut and crushed oyster shell salinity. Very pretty white flower, spearmint florals and sweet vanilla bean spice...slight lees. Just a leisurely, uneventful, but totally satisfying cruise down the river. I drank the whole bottle myself! 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

3/25/2014 - mouton45 Likes this wine: 92 pointsPoured at our wine group dinner at Le Provencal. Loved this way; a lucky buy from Checkers, where I happened to spot five bottles sitting behind some other burgundies on the shelf. Well received by everyone at the dinner, although most thought it was a Cali chard. Glad I grabbed it all from the shelf; this is a great value that can be popped and poured for any occasion. Will definitely be keeping an eye put for more |

7/26/2014 - SLR204 wrote: 94 pointsOpened for 11th anniversary at the Ritz. Nose of field herbs, lemony citrus, buttered toast and salt air. Flavors of slightly grilled lemon with hints of green melon and yellow apple, butter with a nutty grain component like couscous, thyme & other herbs, all balanced with a nice saline minerality. Was much better closer to room temperature vs fridge. Fantastic. |

1/28/2021 - mmcdds Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis needed about an hour or so of air before the pretty, dark red fruit , earthy sous bois undertones and Vosne spice notes began to shine. There’s good depth and concentration here along with a mid length to longish finish. I also think that this has a reasonable qpr. |

10/29/2019 - mmcdds Likes this wine: 90 pointsI’m not typically a Beaujolais fan, but every once in awhile I stumble across a Cru Beaujolais that surprises me, this is one of them. Rich, penetrating, bright red fruit with lots of earthy and tarry undertones. The tannins on the long finish, although still a little chalky, are soft and well integrated. It’s seems that Alex Gambal treats his Beaujolais with the same care that he treats his Burgundies and at $16 a bottle this is a great baby burgundy with a great qpr! |

8/27/2013 - sunnylea57 Likes this wine: 93 pointsLove this. Rich golden wheat colour in the glass. Lemongrass, a bit of wood smoke and minerals on the nose. Luxurious mouth feel. Deep and wide flavours. Lemon and lime, grapefruit, juicy tart green apple, toast and butter, and minerals. Excellent balance between the lush sweetness and the tart acidity. Long finish with lingering lemongrass. |

11/27/2012 - pifcho Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis is gorgeous. Rich yet perfectly balanced. A whiff of oak and flowers on the nose - this certainly has a fair amount of wood, but it is definitely not over-the-top. Excellent weight and precision. Very focused palate with notes of guava, white fruits, cedar and grapefruit. A verve of minerality on the long finish. This will benefit from more time in the cellar, but is drinking fantastically today with a couple of hours of air. Fantastic effort for the appellation! |

12/5/2020 - WoodieBayArea wrote: 94 pointsWow... opened a magnum and (at least on the pnp) the wine was SOOO much more aciditic, mouth-puckering, energized than the two 750's I've tasted in the last couple months... rating and more input to come after a three hour decant and our dinner tonight....... 94 is an extraordinary rating for me, so as u might guess this wine bloomed over the long decant, and was absolutely the wine of the night (IMHO)... beautiful lemon fruit, with great acidity enough acidity and minerality to carry a slight hint of sweetness... BEAUTIFUL!!!... (NB - wondering if bottle variation could occur -- the two notes from earlier this year were not as complementary, but those were 750's from a different supplier, not the magnum format we had this night... hmmm?!?) 1 person found this helpful, do you? 5/11/2018 - Eric Guido Likes this wine: 93 pointsThe nose was rich and smoky with crushed stone, dried peaches, and honey. On the palate, I found soft textures with a sweet and sour display of stone fruit with hints of lemon, ginger spice and minerals. The finish was long showing gorgeous salinity. |

The youthfulness this exhibited 2 years ago is gone and this is now in its prime and best consumed near term. Nice balance and finish. I’m starting to realize I prefer these entry level vosne romanees on release or within a year or 2. Overall enjoyable on its own without food. Revisit 2024 |
