decanted three hours, the nose was closed but the palate was gorgeous silk so refined and polished you can just taste the refinement, its young this to me is very elegant, classy, if you were to put this in the CdP range this def edges toward the 'burgundian' side of things, the grenache is elegant

Wine n Dinner in Eugene (Eugene, Oregon): How do to write a tasting note on this, Amazing, the colour was Deep Tawny.
Had notes of Medicine Honey, some Noble Rot Characters but amazing. Like a Mead quality
This is like drinking liquid honey, not ice wine, until you have had this you cant understand the thickness, intergration of sweetness was so balanced out with the acid beautiful a must try

What a lovely wine, very Southern Rhone, especially 12hrs of decanting, the first hour of the day tighly wound and chalky and chewy, once it unwinds tho its gorgeous

4th Annual Pinot Extravaganza with Salmon Dinner (Eugene, Oregon): Did Not Enjoy this wine at all, Powdery Candy Fruit like a fun dip package, neeeded something, maybe time will turn this around I came back to this 3 times during the tasting to see if it would open up with air over the hours, nope

Gorgeous nose just begs to drink, first sip says yes and no, through in decanter to remove sediment from bottle and the rinsed bottle and poured back in, then let sit for 30mins, the nose is so Pure of Dark fruits, balance, clean, words that on there own dont make sense for a nose but when you smell it you will know

On the palate Full Body, Med+ Acidity, Long FInish,, Med+Tannins
So Velvety Smooth its the first hing that grabs you with great fruit that is rich and plush but in that Velvet smooth Glove is a iron fist, it has substance it has a backbone and it will age

Conc: Drinking amazing with 45min air, will I buy again? Yes I will be heading to the store that has some 07s left and buy at least one bottle for sure

Wine is one dimensional, its tasty, good fruit and structure but just doesnt have anything extra, $35 is a good price anymore is a touch too much IMO, but maybe just needs time in bottle

A: Prune, Red Plum, Spice [Sweet Spice but not your typical Anise/Licourice something more exotic but not Sasspralla]
T: Med Tannin, med Acid, Med+ Finish
Good Mouthfeel/texture, Earthy, Plum, Dark Chocolate Cherry

Day 2
A: Herbaceous, Dark Chocolate, Citrus Peel [Maybe Dark Grapefruit?]
T: Juicy, Dark Fruit, Dark Chocolate, Raspberry, Sappy, Tar, Fresh Leather

Conclusion: A Solid wine maybe not my style but can see the appeal, definitely well made

DAY 1:
med- Yellow in Colour
Med+ Intensity on the Nose, Youthful
Beeswax, Creamy Lime, Apple opens up with some Flint
High Acid, med body, med+ intensity, long finish
Apple, Zesty Lime, Cinnamon
Conc: Focus of Delish Fruit

Day 2:
Nose is there and intergrated with some nice notes of Oak showing itself in a good way in the palate just beautiful touch of bitter apple, deliciousness fruit. Its gorgerous Im going to find and buy some more it will age for couple years no problem

I say Decant if drinking on Day 1 for sure

med intensity, slowly starting to show developing qualities opened up with Sappy green pineapple, opening up into more papaya
On the Palate, Med Body, med+ to high acid, med intensity, med+ finish, Elegant, Pineapple balanced, under ripe apple, creamy oak integrated, Touch of Caramel [developing note]

Conc: I like this wine my only problem is the price tag at $50 in the US, I just cant see its value its good and balanced but not complex or interesting enough to spend that much money on

on the palate, high acid, med+ body, meD+ finish, med+ intensity
high toned fruit mixed with acidity, its intense and in your face

Conc: needs time to calm down couple more years to settle down

Dark Cranberry, Orange, mixed with some High tone notes

Conc: Needs time, its not harmonious the acid/body/palate is bouncing around, I wouldnt open another for atleast 6months just to let it calm down. Potential 92-93 today 89

Marquis Wine 25th Anniversary Tasting (Terminal City Club): This was very good, but the opposite of the Ridge Monte Bello 07 [from the same tasting] This was more masculine, more power, darker fruit, denser, Brooding, with a great core of acid and focus to not make it over the top or nothing [and not that it is over the top the fruit is in a good spot] Just brooding/masculine

A Excellent wine [tho I prefer that Elegant Style of Ridge]
