Dark red, deep core.
Lovely ripe cassis, dark spice, smooth, sherbet zest, fruits and oak spice.
Fine big tannins, dark berries, some cedar, some earth, but not overly complex. Plump, good density, lush for St Estephe, warm year ripeness. Drinking nicely.

Deep colour.
Gentle fragrance, soft red fruit and plummy spice.
Velvety texture, soft refined tannins, crushed herbs, raspberry, plum, relatively lean so not a heavyweight but still good clean classic flavours.

Deep rich red colour.
Bright raspberry and black currant fragrance, floral and very lifted.
Medium bodied, good intensity of fruit with a nice seam of mulberry, cassis and fragrant tobacco leaf. Plenty of tannins to close. Drinking well but probably needs another 5 years at least.

creamy, full, rich, dense but very smooth. flavours a little disjointed but huge potential. black fruits, figs, ink and tar, blackcurrant jam, graphite blended with dark fruits. gorgeous.

Tawny orange. Fine oak and marmalade nose. Bright rich orange marmalade, vanilla essence is very strong. Good intensity and resonance but vanilla is too heavy.

Orange hue.
Strong pineapple, marzipan, custard and lightly vanilla fragrance.
Powerful, a lot more than normal, impressive acidity and length. More unctuous than usual, lots of tropical fruit, marzipan and more noticeable oak spice and vanilla. A big vintage that has been given the full treatment. I might leave it alone for another decade and hopefully by then it’ll taste more like Climens.

Deeply coloured, bright red with black core.
Bright, intense fragrance. Dark spice, red berries, blood plum, damson, rich cassis.
Fruit flavours drive the impression, rich and sweet, but with excellent structure, finessed, lithe, refined. Primary fruits still set the profile, gentle secondary flavours only, youthful. Hints of dark tar spice, licorice, graphite. Silky, stylish and delicious.

Vintage 2010 Tasting; 10/24/2020-10/25/2020 (Bronte, Sydney): dark red, starting to lighten at the rim
super intense fruitcake fragrance, bright red berries and florals
very silky refined style, slides across the palate like a very smooth pinot, acidity is refined and tannins are melting. red berries, plums, some blueberries, licorice and tar spice complexity. Starting to develop but feels like it needs longer.

Very dark colour.
Bright red fruits with darker edge driven by nicely integrated finely charred oak. A hint of sweet sherbet zest with blueberry and violet accents. Attractive, perhaps not all that distinctive.
Beautifully balanced, med wt, well fleshed, velvety. Darker on the palate with plums and tar/graphite. Oak char is well integrated but it's impact is still evident. Some light tobacco leaf, ink, with a tasty red berry core. Finishes very smoothly, with plentiful very fine tannins and gentle acidity. A well made attractive wine, just lacks a little in terms of personality for a better score.

Deeply coloured.
Ripe fruity fragrance, cassis, sherbet, lightly cedary.
Nicely balanced, dark fruit, cedar, tobacco leaf, gentle complexity. Plentiful fine tannins, but balanced against the fleshy fruit. Youthful, great presence, easily a decade ahead.

Deep colour, dark core, red rim.
High toned, blueberry, violets, raspberry, plus dark tar spice.
Silky, on the warm side. Ripe rich fruit, dark spice, tar, licorice, earthy, sweet plums. Good acidity. Youthful feel, but probably not going to improve too much.

Dark to medium with a light rim, no brick.
Ripe dark fruit, with cedar and chocolate.
Clean pure flavours, cassis, raspberry, oak spice, cedar, licorice. Light on the palate, delicate, not overly intense. Good acidity and fine furry tannins, fruit probably not quite up to the structure. Past its best but still a very pleasant experience.

Has developed a nice burnt orange hue, but still quite translucent.
Lovely taught honey and spice, with a rich toasted bread and blossom bouquet.
Dense, but silky, flows beautifully, coiled with power and has tremendous length. Richly honeyed but not cloying, lovely refreshing acidity. Creamy, peachy, apricot edge, gentle spice, delicious. Has softened a little with age but resonates with lovely flavours. At its peak.

Fragrance of honey, toasted almond, vanilla.
Rich and luscious, honey, vanilla, marmalade and toast. Good acidity, good length. Lovely fruit, oranges and cream, delicious.

Nice golden colour, not too dark.
Bright honeysuckle and citrus zest, with mineral and oak spice.
Rich dark honey and orange rind. Great intensity, super length, lovely zinging spice on the long smooth finish. Sweet apricots and marmalade with gentle vanilla. Drinking nicely.

Lemon gold colour.
Soft white flowers, pears, white peach, manuka honey.
Very even weight, lightly creamy, excellent length, harmonious finish. Lemon curd, honey, great minerality, and a lovely precision. Still young and at least five ahead. The silky style makes it very drinkable now.

2007 Vintage Tasting (Bronte, Sydney): pale red with a tawny rim.
beautiful rich fruit fragrance, sweet and earthy, super smooth.
plump fruit, honeyed, super smooth, no hard edges at all, clean gentle acidity, rounded tannins, fruit is turning towards the more developed characters, some fig and dried fruits but has not yet turned totally secondary, lovely tawny notes mixed with ripe age fruit. delicious.

Faded red with only a hint of tawny.
Molasses, sweet and fragrant, a nicely balanced richness, raisins, toffee and honey.
Has definitely turned from the super ripeness of youth to a more mature wine with earthy, Xmas pudding and roasted raisin flavours and a classicly leaner texture. At 30yrs it still has bags of richness and fruit, all the more impressive from a half-bottle. A powerful and long resonating finish with rich fruit and spice.

Fragrant lemon curd and toast.

Sweet fruitcake and red berries , dark tar spice .
Beautiful structure , drinkable and yet with a taught underbelly . Super refined tannins, lovely acidity . Red berries, licorice and tar spice , plums, hint of chocolate , well integrated dark spice . Delicious now, will last years.
