I had never heard of this Chateau but the owner of the shop said he recently tasted vintages back to 1925 and all were great. A wonderfully mature nose of old wood, iodine, wet band aids earth and with time more and more sweet red fruit. This became more youthful with every sip. Narrow and bright. Lots of minerals. Silky texture, but just the right amount of structure and grip on the finish to remind you this is a Barolo and not a Musigny. Really delicious and was even better on day 2. |
