2020 Storm Point

Western Cape Red Blend more

This was our fifth bottle of this over the past 5 or 6 months. For $14, it's a solid and enjoyable choice for something inexpensive. Definitely red fruit driven, no Rhone funk, it's clean; don't mean that negatively, love and drink a lot of Rhones. At least for me, not overly ripe, just walks the line. And no oak chips or saw dust. I really enjoy cinsault's and carignan, combined, these are most of the blend, maybe another reason for my enjoyment of this wine.

9/1/2021 5:28:00 PM - It looks like the winemaker for Storm Point in Mick Craven, of Craven Wines.
The 'Storm' is just a reference to going around the Cape in South Africa.

I've had Craven Wines Cinsault and liked it.

As I am running out of older Oregon pinots, forced to drink this too young again. I must admit, this seems pretty awkward right now. Chunky and primary. Still have three more and I have now learned my lesson and sit on them a few years...

7/10/2014 6:48:00 PM - I have plenty of wine, just need to stop forcing this one. No sense in continuing to open them at this point. Just need to remember that when I am in the cellar:). I can't see it not improving even if it may not blossom into a swan. I am a huge Cameron fan and have to keep the faith.
