The fruit was slightly raisined, perhaps from the outset or perhaps from the time in bottle, who knows. If this bottle is indicative, though, drink up. You wouldn't want this to be more oxidized than it was. |

3/23/2018 - ellars Likes this wine: 92 points92: I don't know if I have ever had such a smooth Zinfandel! Extra age has mellowed the tannins and left an amazing mix of flavors. This drank fantastic right out of the bottle. The aroma offers a hint of the terroir that rests just below the dominant fruit. Easy mouthfeel. Beautiful dark red-purple color with no hint of browning. Hard to believe that the CT "drink by" date was 4 years ago. If you still have a bottle, and you've been storing it well, give this a chance. And if you happen to stumble across a dusty bottle in a back shelf of a store somewhere, buy it! |

Not worth drinking second night. Not sure if I was high at the tasting or if I'm going to have huge bottle variation. |

A bit over ripe but very nice weekday zin. Good balance and some tannin remaining. Great choice if you like them on the ripe side. |

Seems like a small estate grown and bottled wine and the care and pride show in a well crafted wine. Sometimes it's not about the high scores or hype but just good old fashion dedication to a quality winemaking. |
