11/19/2022 - WST Likes this wine: NRServed blind. Another wine that suffered from the stiff competition, and perhaps from palate fatigue, being a latecomer to the tasting. I felt it was better on the palate than on the nose. The second wine of the tasting that had a cabbage-like or cruciferous vegetal aroma. Also, coffee, red fruit. A bit of alcohol although not inordinate. |

Bottle was in great condition and cab was drinking nicely, good color, nose, and flavor depth. Aging appears to have balanced some of the original discrepancies noted by others. |

Despite the expectations generated by the big, heavy bottle, fruit and oak were in check and wine was a purely enjoyable accompaniment to burgers. An observant dinner companion noticed that label indicated wine was bottled and cellared by Montes but not produced by them. I don't know if that means this first vintage was bottled w/ somebody else's wine. |
