3/7/2024 - Mallards wrote: 88 pointsPart of our Washington Wine Wednesday series: Nice red fruits on the nose. No Rocks Funk like other Rotie - makes sense since grapes aren't from their estate vineyard. Lots of red fruits and slightly herbally in the taste. We were calling this wine "Washington" Oregon Pinot. When you look at many descriptions of this wines, it appears we aren't alone in this assessment. Versatile wine that will be good with food or as a stand alone. We'll likely go with just 1 in future Rotie allocations. |

2/29/2024 - Mallards wrote: 86 pointsNose: Red fruits, floral notes, red cherries. Taste: Light bodied and fruity. Not necessarily a Rotie favorite. Pleasant and easy drinking. Wife’s comments - Not as funky as expected. Likes the wine, but many other Rotie wines seem to leap out of the glass with flavor, but not this one. Will avoid purchasing from Wine Club. |

2/27/2024 - DrBad Likes this wine: 94 pointsDrank over several nights without too much change in the wine. Nice value for a very good wine. Classy, well balanced, not too much over the top funk but just enough to let you know it's WW. |

2/21/2024 - Pedroel Likes this wine: 93 pointsStarts out overly rocky, with that characteristic funk, but has great nose, full flavors, mouthfeel and finish. Then, after about 4 hours, the funk mellows and everything comes into balance. I preferred the Tablas at the winery, but another comparison may be necessary. |

2/11/2024 - Mallards wrote: 94 pointsA dream come true Rhône Red Blend. 65% Mourvèdre, 20% Grenache, 15% Syrah. My comments: Limited nose. Big dark fruits in the mouth. Snipes Mountain AVA which reminds me of CA’s Howell Mountain for its delivery of bigness to this wine. Will definitely take allocation and more in future offerings. Big, bold, well worth $45. Wifey comments: Red fruit with earthy base. Rhône grapes stand out. Deserving of a high rating. |

2/9/2024 - DrBad Likes this wine: 91 pointsAlmost Pinot Noir like, this is a good example of the versatility and variety of the Grenache grape. Light opacity with bright cherry red in color. Light body. Tangy cherry and strawberry, orange peel and spices. A nice red wine to go along with lighter meals like seafood, we enjoyed it with seared salmon. |

Note…it was better the second day, the stale taste was a bit less and the fruit and tannins emerged some. But still stale. |

12/30/2023 - Mallards wrote: 88 pointsWe are in the Rotie wine club and wanted to sit with this bottle and see if we should keep taking our allocation or exchange or lower our allocation. I am posting first my take, and then my wife’s. My take - very uncertain about a 100% Mourvèdre as a wine. Nose: Big dark fruits, cough syrup, dark olives. Original taste - Cough syrup, dark olives and blackberries. In subsequent glasses, the wine became gamey, spicy, big but not great depth. This is a unique stand alone offering. Would likely go with 1 of a 2 bottle allocation. Susan - Nose, dark fruits, bramble, earthy, very good overall nose. Likes the taste a lot. Not certain if allocation should be 1 or 2 bottles. |
