4/16/2024 - nefarm Likes this wine: 91 pointsWhat a difference in bottles. I got the dusty tannins and fruit noted by others as compared to carbonation in the last one. Plenty life left in this one. Possibly 92 points in a few years once fruit takes backstage 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

4/13/2024 - brisbane piefan Likes this wine: 93 pointsQuite perfumed nose. To me this seems to be at the start of prime drinking window - medium bodied, subtle herby notes with some smoky characteristics that tended to make this better with food. |

2/1/2024 - Alexander Smith Likes this wine: 92 pointsVisit to Woodlands, Margaret River. I have read a lot about Woodlands, however overall this was quite a disssapointing visit, wines lacked any sort of drive; quite linear and weak in the mid-palate, and even though they were well made they all missed a little something. The Woodlands Cabernet Sauvignon was probably the highlight, however at $229 AUD it was a hard pass. At $100 this would be an easy buy |

1/10/2024 - pinoteer Likes this wine: 92 pointsJust did a PnP today, which I almost never do with a red wine. The first 15-30 minutes it was like a fruit salad in your glass--incredibly delicious. Then, it transitioned into a more complex blend, with cranberry, garrigue. and coconut and vanilla (from the oak aging). Loads of lip-smacking acidity which gives the wine so much freshness. Low/moderate ABV 13.5%. Very long finish, 45 sec. at least. Always a fan of W. Australian Cab blends. |

1/5/2024 - Rhone Rick Likes this wine: 93 pointsWould be happy at @ 5x the price. Honestly, drink as a first class mature Bordeaux with a pinch of acid & jam… just a pinch. Super balanced with beautifully long finish. This one just flourished with age. And feels like a few more years left. |

12/6/2023 - graemeg wrote: NRNobleRottersSydney - Marg River & Great Southern (Fix, St James, Sydney): {screwcap, 13.5%} [Graeme] Total cabernet style; current, cassis, and I heard Glenn say crushed ant – concur with that. Lavish sort of palate, pure, rich and ripe with black fruit; no green or olive here. Medium weight, subtle cedary tannins, medium acidity. Polished palate of pure black flavours; very much fruit-driven but controlled, with medium weight, and a medium length finish. Just about my first go at Woodlands premium cabernet, family-labelled wine; it’s very good, but doesn’t quite have the sophistication of the Moss Wood (two wines later), despite being similarly priced. Perhaps will age OK. Maybe. But for $20 price difference, you’d buy the Moss Wood… |

12/8/2023 - Indran Rajendra Likes this wine: 95 pointsThis vintage was the birth year of my eldest son. I bought several dozen bottles when the wine was 2 years old and they have been cellared perfectly in a commercial cellar. I have written several notes on the wine on Cellar Tracker over the years. It his 16th birthday and he is sampling 1/2 a glass with me. He is also writing notes. 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (5) |
