4/22/2024 - Gargantua Does not like this wine: NRIt's just too much for my Burgundian-leaning palate; a bit hot, a bit oaky (still, can you believe it), and a bit jammy. Was my favorite many years ago when we visited their tasting room in Oregon, but ultimately I wonder if this could've aged another 5 years into a more appealing form for my palate. Oh well, I'll never know--only bottle. |

"Wtf was I thinking; how on Earth will Chenin's orchard fruit interface with salty fish". Well, let me tell you, this Vouvray and our yellowtail hamachi were meant to be. Worked great with everything on the table. Richer at its core than the Batardiere Cocus I'd tried recently, but still nothing too outsized the way the fruit on my beloved Chidaine can be in recent vintages (still love those, but they're not as nervy as they once were in past cooler vintages). Great stuff. |
