Full nose of strawberries, powerful cherries, and hints of roses. Palate inky berries and fruit, red fruit caresses with a massive finish that goes on for minutes need it five hour decant to show its expression. The wine was wonderful with a dinner of Oso Buco, With polenta.

First wine we had in 2024. Nose of herbal mint, crushed red berries of strawberry and fox berry. Loamy tilled soil leads to mouthwatering palate of ripe strawberries and black pepper. Minerals and herbs lead to a balanced tannic and spicy finish.

Nose of crushed red and black berries, and blueberries and notes of bacon and herbs, pain Grille. Pallet of crushed berries with stone, orchard fruit that gives with its firm tannins, a serious and long finish had with lean New York, cut steak and veggies.

The nose is predominantly grape fruit-reserved and not expected. Has a purple popsicles smell, with herbs (thyme ) and violet flowers. The palate is minuscule fruit, acid with soft tannins. Decanted for three hours. This wine is in a dumb phase, and does not live up to it’s 98+ points Wine advocate rating. Hold off drinking my other ‘13 for another 5 years.

Decanted for 2.5 hours-bright nose of red berries and crushed stone fruits. Roses and floral notes prevail on a balanced wine. The palate follows on a tannic platform the lasts forever. Had with duck breast and fall veggies- a great wine that deserves respect for it’s 20 years in the bottle. Drank over 2 hours. Wow

Very good, but not as balanced as different years-2014. Nose is dirty like a good northern Rhône with many promisingly variable but the palate of crushed blackberries is not multidimensional as the nose. Tannins are there with too high acid, but finish not as long as you would think

I like this vintage. Soapy almond paste and bruised pears, werid fun spiky mineral midpalate. I want to find this wine's perfect pairing.

Nose of green pepper and forest floor of loamy soil. Brick brown color with full body legs of high alcohol.Palate of crushed current, black cherry, subtle anise. Long finish that is velvety and distinct with light black tea tannins. Decanted two hours before-a requirement. Can go for another 3 years of bottle age when the fruit will diminish.

5/3/2014 3:13:00 PM - Thank you for your response Bam_Man-I agree it is a great "prestige" Cabernet from Napa. I enjoyed your review on 04/20, and found it on target. My 93 might have been due to my hope that it will get slightly better with bottle age (I fortunately have four more bottles left). I agree with the 3 hour decant and 'impeccably' balanced!

    Cheers

Wow, what a bouquet! After two-hour decant: Creme Brulee, vanilla, caramel apple. Like eating English toffee. Didn't find same delight on the palate. Light and somewhat lethargic. Some red fruits and tart cherries at first. Update: After 3+ hours this wine came together nicely. Didn't result in the lushness that I was hoping for but still provided more substance and weight than at first. Fact is that this needs more time in bottle which is true of most better made 2008's from WA state.

3/21/2013 7:55:00 PM - You are bang on with your review Ecbatana. I found it took about twenty hours open in a decanter to come together. Yes it needs more time in the bottle. Great toffee comparison-I agree.
