Totally unimpressed. $50. You're kidding. This wine was simple, slightly oxidized, brickish. I tasted it when I thought it was early because I bought this last year, based on the producer--Ciacci. I had their wines in the early 90's and they were great. I tasted it because the 2010 is now really hyped. I needed to decide if I wanted to buy the 2010. This made up my mind. No way. Very disappointing for a $50 bottle. I tasted it the same night as a Griffone, $3.99 primativo---sadly, I will take the Griffone.

1/24/2015 6:23:00 PM - Hope that shows better. I was on the fence about selling off the 2006. I ended up keeping it because I visited the estate and tasted this there. Hoping mine come around with age. I've moved on from Brunello though, prefer a good Chianti classico that I can see through.

Decanted for close to two hours before tasting. Opaque purple core, pink rim. Ripe black fruit, dried figs, Christmas spices, garrigue, leather and vanilla on the nose and palate. An absolutely massive CdP that in my view lacks the acidity to maintain balance – nice flavours, but comes across as very heavy and uninspiring after only a few sips. There’s also a fair bit of heat on the finish that adds to the general feeling of disappointment. Will no doubt divide opinions, though – if Amarone is your thing, you might have a very different take on this than me.

Carmel and Cargassachi for the time being.

a little bit offensive off taste. I was expecting much more. It was possibly past prime, for a 2012 Beaujolias. Defiantly not worth the price of almost $30.00.

So good, and as good as it is upon opening, its much better on day 2 (maybe I'll decant next time?). Cool, airy, fresh, pure aromas that blend green herbal minty and citrus peel tones, and a layer of brown savory spice underneath. complex, finessed, completely delicious wine. A real winner.
