c'est vrai que le nez est assez intéressant. mais en bouche, une exubérance de tannins mal assouplis. peut-être sera-il mieux dans 2-3 ans, mais j'en doute.
décevant pour le prix

Sweet pipe tobacco, boysenberry, chocolate, spice, truffle, black cherry and forest aromas pop from the glass. As good as the perfume it, the silky, lush, sexy, refined texture and long, opulent finish are even better. It's not cheap. But for a mature vintage of Cheval Blanc, this is the wine to buy,

We had this wine in a restaurant near Zurich / Switzerland. Just after opening the bottle elegant and pleasant flavours mainly of strawberry and but also other berries emerged from the glass. Good balance, soft tannins are well embedded into this smooth wine which was medium bodied. We loved the cuvee of Nebbiolo, Merlot and Cabernet. Not a dazzler but a well and pure made wine. Young to drink, don´t wait! Went perfect with a Risotto.

Violet color of great depth. Expressive Nose was meaty, dark-fruited, and spicy. Medium-full bodied on the palate, with gentle drying tannins and good acidity; purple berry flavor has good concentration; finish is of medium length and medium-light intensity; 14% alc.. This wine saw 14 months in oak.

Decanted for 2 hours before dinner. Some sedimentation, very opaque.

The wine was closed for the first 2 hours, but started showing abit thereafter. Lots of tannins. The second day the wine was much better and by the third it was pleasant.

Smoky and creamy bouquet with cassis, blackberries, graphite and cedar. On the palate very juicy fruits as in the bouquet. A touch of sweetness; butterscotch. Soft tannin with still plenty of future. I scored the wine 94 because it is so lovely already. I expect the wine to remain around this score for at least a decade, and in fact it might even improve a bit.

Popped and slow ox'd for about an hour and a half. Dark crimson color. Really nice nose of baked strawberry and cherry pie with a bit of cedar and savory herbs. Red fruit driven flavors on the palate with roasted plum and black cherry notes, some oak flavors with a bit of coffee and black licorice on the back end. Medium acid, medium plus tannin, nice finish. This wine was really enjoyable and went really well with a pork and mushroom stew. Glad to have another bottle in the cellar.

Too young to drink, tannins need to settle down. However the fruit is nice and containes black and red berries, there's cacao, chocolate and a bit of spices. This will be a nice wine when further ripened.

60th Birthday Dinner at DiVino Edinburgh: Last minute substitute for the corked L-B. Plenty of fine dark berry fruit, some blackcurrant but plenty red too. Dances slight and smooth across the tongue. Something almost floral about it. Good balance. Just lacked real complexity after the wonders that had gone before.

Commanderie de Bordeaux: Gala Dinner (Fairmont Pacific Rim - Vancouver, BC): Initially quite tight and restrained on the nose, with aromas of bright red fruits, cassis, lead pencil shavings, graphite, anise, and a touch of charred oak. Fairly muted on the palate as well, displaying more red cherries, black pepper and clove spice, bitter red currants, menthol, and the typical lead pencil shavings. Lots of acidity coupled with hard gritty tannins. Medium length finish ending on notes of tart red currants and lead pencil. This clearly is in an awkward spot right now and is hard as nails. Astringent, tart, and bitter, but the foundation is in place. I wouldn't try again for at least 3 years. With time, very good.
