I love To Kalon's fine dustry cocoa tannins but right now, the fruit is so intense and powerful that the tannins are completely overshadowed. This will need a lot of time to resolve. Its smooth and powerful. Dark fruit, espresso and good acidity. Well balanced. Hold hold hold. |

This had nice fruit and an array of mocha, coffee and cocoa and some oak. While the stuffing that I remember is still there, this lacked the structure I'm usually familiar with the Ovid wines. Surprising in this respect. Again, could this have been a bad bottle? Sure, but we collectively could not identify any obvious flaw except the wine was not we expected it to be. Hopefully the future is still bright for this wine and its merely in an awkward phase.
