7/1/2018 - Kemo Sabe Likes this wine: 95 pointsJust released and drank in a full vertical of d'Ambonnay (95, 96, 98, 00 and 02). Awesome energy and verve. Strong acidity but not out of balance. Great lemon and toast with plenty of minerality and chalky notes. Some brioche and creme brulee. This is easliy a 50+ year wine with plenty of upside.

7/1/2017 - FYC wrote: NRStarts of bright red cherry with high acidity. Blinded I would have guessed 96. This wine improves by the hour. Black fruits and a hint of soy and smoke. A lot lingering savoriness on the finish. I agree this is reminiscent of of an aged northern Rhone. This palate and nose builds for 3 hours and I suspect these bottles will take another 1-2 decades to peak.

12/3/2013 - FYC wrote: NRSo far have had about 6 of these. The color and taste is more advanced than it should be. The color is dusty red. The flavor profile is now savory with wonderful salinity and pretty red fruit. There is nice spice on the nose. This looks and tastes like it's 10 years old. Purchased directly from importer and consistent with a prior lot. Odd but drinking well now.
