Pretty ruby garnet color, opaque and nice clarity. Smells are blackberry, currant, dry leaves, wet stone, and peppery hints. The tatstes are currants, cola, blackberry, sour cherry, earth, stony minerality. Tannins are modest and the finish is dry and spicy and notable heat.

Garnet color, some opacity, and some brick hints at the rim. The aromas are crushed cherry, sweet tobacco, plum, leather, and currants. The tastes are sour cherry, brown sugar, vanilla, tobacco, and slightly tart red fruit. This wine is light on the palate and complex.

Zwonky tannins and florid notes on the ether. This bottle could languish indeterminately in dank corners whilst gathering grey streaks of wisdom in it's mane of wild coarseness. Reminiscent of a fine Dornish vintage. - For Doug

The bubbles are numerous, tiny, and streaming in seeming perpetuity from bottom to top. It is frothy on the pour and the color is clear and straw gold. The smells are honey, hazelnut, butter, flowers, and yeasty aromas. The tastes are apple, pear, lime, ginger, honey, butterscotch, toast, with light shades of salinity. The mouth feel is creamy, weighty and the acidity is zingy. The finish is lengthy and the bubbles seem to sizzle on the palate. This wine is hedonistic and offers great value.

Garnet to ruby color and salmon to the edge with dense color that is barely translucent. The aromas are raspberry, cinnamon, cherry, flowers, light pepper, red licorice candy. The tastes are cherry, sweet spice, cinnamon, raspberry, sweet vanilla, and hints of earth. The finish was sweet and delicious and the tannins were dusty fine and ripe. Medium weight on the palate and the acidity was notable and good.

The color is translucent garnet with brilliant clarity. The smells are perfumed, floral, damp earth, dark cherry and raspberry. The tastes are cherry, sweet spices, tart raspberry, sassafras, peppery spice, rose, and clove. The finish is lengthy and the body is modest. Dark, plummy color, a bit rustic, lifted, and bretty. In fact, the nose is pretty much dominated by brett. It's not unattractive, for me, but I have a high tolerance for brett and actually kind of like it. Brings a fair amount of body and flavor for the price, though I'd probably go for Vieux Lazaret.

This is a real find. The combination of Malbec and Tempranillo is inspired. Mouth watering juicy red and black fruit, with some structure thrown in. Super dark color. The baked black fruit aromas literally jump out of the glass. The two grapes combine for a much more complete mouth feel than either alone. This wine is clean and well made, not particularly layered or complex. More bold, fruity, juicy, and tasty. A decent hit of oak. Balanced, but not overpowering acid. Soft. Some enhancing smoky and earthy flavors in the background. Fruity, smokey, mineral finish.

12/7/2012 7:58:00 PM - I found some commonality with your note and mine... what struck me most was the "aromas literally jump out of the glass" - I could not agree more and made a similar comment in my note. Cheers!
