7/11/2023 1:25:00 PM - Cayuse wines have a long drinking window, so you really can’t go wrong opening one. I enjoy the more vibrant notes when they are younger as well as the more mellow tertiary notes as they get older.
They are however very polarizing wines, people tend to either love them or hate them. I have not had anything like it in the US. You would have to go to the northern Rhone region to get anything like it.
    I hope you enjoy it!

Wonderful aromas of black cherry and currants with lively black cherry, spice, and cedar notes on the velvety palate and long finish. Classic Sea Smoke! Last of the 2007 Ten's.

8/13/2019 4:20:00 PM - I respectively disagree. If you believe in points, which I think are only truly valid for that individual taster, then every wine should be rated. I rate and write tasting notes mainly for myself. I am glad if they assist others, but do not expect them to as palates are so variable. There is so much bottle variation, particularly among some producers, that it is valuable to assess consistency among bottles in the short term as well as to assess wine maturation in the long term.

Judging from my notes and scores the 2007 SS Ten was consistently a great wine. I loved it! The 2007 SS Southing was far more inconsistent with ratings of flawed and 91 to 95. Overall 2007 was a good year for SS.

Looking at your tasting notes I can see that you do the same.

    Cheers!

1/12/2019 11:50:00 AM - Wine is mature with no risk of fading any time soon. Will it improve, especially with the presence of Brett, is the question. I drank my last bottle. Cheers!

Rich black berry and spice on the nose and palate with touch of heat on the long finish.

  • Comment posted by pjhr:

6/23/2016 1:15:00 PM - Clearly has a long life ahead of it, but is quite approachable now. I am pretty sensitive to heat on the finish and have noticed it on most Saxum wines from the 2008-2009 vintages, and don't think it will fade with age.

They are similar in style to Kosta Browne.

1/12/2013 7:34:00 AM - The 2005 & 2006 vintages were gems. I think they will continue to drink beautifully for at least the next 5 years, and likely age gracefully for many more. I just love the energy and bite of the finish now, so for me why wait! As you can tell I love whole cluster Syrah.
