2005 Bordeaux Futures Campaign 3,442 wines and 395,955 bottles | |  | |
Wine 'futures' refers to buying wine after it is made, but before it is bottled. Samples are made available to members of the trade in the spring following the vintage (about two years before release). In good vintages, buying futures early can save a great deal of money, but it is strongly recommended to only buy from reputable merchants with a successful track record.
Wine critics have universally declared 2005 as an extremely special vintage, but the wines are also proving to be frightfully expensive compared to prior vintages."The 2005 vintage will go down in the history books as a superlative year for Bordeaux.
