Elegant and suprisingly cool for a 2007, at least compared to how many C9dP wines from the same vintage tastes. Dark fruit, very mineral. Nice first wine from Pibarnon.

A Bordeaux blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% merlot, along with 3% of Petite Sirah, for rounding and depth. The wine was aged for 9 months in new French barrels. The nose on this purple colored wine starts with Merlot barnyard funk, black fruit, spice, clear sweet notes that were not there 6 months ago, and herb. The mouth on this medium to full bodied wine is rich and layered with concentrated fruit, lovely extraction, showing spicy oak, mouth coating spicy and drying tannin, mounds of oriental spice, blackberry, swet notes bordering on date, and dark cherry. The finish is long and balanced with still searing tannin, lovely leather, lovely vanilla, nice balancing acid, dark chocolate, with nutmeg, cinnamon, sweet notes lingering - Very nice!

The color is clear deep golden.

The nose is clean, med to med+ intensity, cooked pear, syrup, apricot and pear jam, tin pineapple, very subtle, nutty notes, jasmin, orange blossom, orange skin, orange and citrus jam. There is a heavy/warm feeling that gives away the aussie PO box but also a refreshing notion in the same time (I attribute the latter in the orange & blossom mix). It feel developed.

The wine is sweet, feels med+ body and intensity, low alcohol (11%), med+ acidity, the palate shows more nutty & oaky flavors, caramel, caramelized nuts, tin pear and apricot, citrus and orange jam, extremely well balanced, mouth watering and decadent, long finish.

Outstanding quality, drinking now but could hold, excellent value for money

The Malbec (10%) in this blend imparts an interesting and somewhat strong smokiness to the Merlot (90%). It's a classic merlot other than that and worth seeking out. There's some green olive in the nose but the idden secret is the smoky Malbec. This particular bottle in my cellar had great bottle age and was probably at its' peak, can't imagine it getting much better.

This is really good. Intense yellow fruit and good overall balance. Probably more potential to be revealed after additional time in bottle. Will hold on to remaining bottles for a few years.

Saturated black ruby with fabulous viscosity. Rich nose with smoky fruit and vanilla much in evidence. Very complex and nuanced with wild blueberry. Big mouthful. Sweet and silky fruit flavors with layers of berry fruit, leading into a long, complex vanillin finish. Quite impressive. Good bargain at $23. 5-12-17-9: 93/100.

Always a reliable summer patio treat. Nose of canned fruit salad, fresh strawberry and bubblegum. Tasted like watermelon, peach, LifeSavers Strawberry Creme Savers, cucumber and a hint of jalapeño on the finish. Not that dry but also not too sweet.

Garnet-tinged magenta. Warm blackberry pie, oak and wet leather nose. Medium bodied, cranberries, sharp cherries, black pepper, completely integrated tannins, a bit of mushroom, and a long red candy finish. It's fully mature and sublime.

New World taste. Blackberry liqueur, vanilla, toast, and mocha with hints of herbs. Hot and inelegant. I do not care for this style of wine.

I agree with the comments that this wine is past its prime and lacks structure to support the ripe fruit.

A solid Pinot, with a seductively smooth and upfront appealing texture. Drinking really well at the moment. Lacks just a tad of the complexity of some other '10 KB Pinots. Tasted alongside '12 Bevan 2114 and '12 Wren Hop Mortal Coil Pinots. The '10 KB was overall #3, but all stood strong. The KB was great with a salmon and scallop spiced sweet potato dish, but could not compete with the Russell Bevan Pinots as a stand-alone.

Nevertheless, the KB is a beautiful Pinot, full of dark red cherry, ripe raspberry, subtle earth, and cinnamon flavors. Finishes with a nice frame of earth and spice. Great drinking window now. PnP and enjoy!

Similar notes as on 7/24/15. Tasted tonight side-by-side with a '10 KB Sonoma and Bevan 2114. The 2114 was WOTN, with the Wren Hop Mortal Coil a close #2. The Mortal Coil was a little tight tonight, but showed the most future potential, hinting at complex flavors of vanilla, spice, strawberry, raspberry jam, and creamy, rich black cherry. Smooth and creamy as usual. Most likely even better in a year or two.

Bomber of a wine, though not as much at the 15.8% would make you believe. Almost a period piece of the bomber Cali pinots of this time period. Ultimately we had a glass and corked it up as too monster and lacking backbone. We the finished a youngish 2012 Sonoma coast from another favorite producer, and came back to this later in the evening. Still hot, yet cold from refrigerator. Still a bomber the next day. Both my wife and I were a tad slow this AM..l had to admit to her that I got back into this wine late...she said "you got back into that Pinot didn't you?"

Red fruit and spice on the nose. On the palate, rhubarb, sassafras, red berry, dark red cherry, a little earth, and spice. A very accessible and fruit-forward Pinot, with a rich, voluptuous profile. Some spice, cardamom, and allspice flavors as well. A solid Russell Bevan Pinot, just a tad less rich than the Petaluma Gap. Ready to drink now, but will become even more interesting with a year or so of cellaring. WOTN when compared to a '10 KB Sonoma and '12 Wren Hop Mortal Coil.

From my 'lost cellar'. A delicious surprise. 19 year old premier cry Chablis in perfect shape for age with classic oyster-shell, lemon, apple, honey and hay nose. Palate fresh with plenty of crisp lemon and apple fruit characters leading into that oyster-shell and limestone minerality. Very good cut and finish. If only corks were a reliable closure !
